A couple of weeks ago, I caved to temptation and traded in my Transalp for a Varadero.

It’s not new, but is an 09 plate with 1,600 on the clock, so not far from brand new.

So far I’m very happy. It’s sooooooo comfortable for someone of my size and it’s nice to have that extra bit of power. It is bleedin’ heavy though and has already been ‘laid down gently’ to the ground :frowning: Thank god for crash bars!

I’m a little annoyed with finance people, insurers and others who seem to change prices/ARP’s from initial offers to when you come to sign something. Three times so far I’ve thought I had something arranged and have then not signed as something has changed. At the moment the bike has been paid for on a credit card!

Nice. You’ve got to tour a bike like that - I’d be planning a trip to Italy or something. :slight_smile:

Same engine as the firestorm if I remember correctly, although retuned. How are you finding her compared to the 650?

The power feels good, especially when cruising at higher speeds.

Yeah, I’m just waiting for a friend to pass his test and then us and his friend also on a Varadero are hoping to take a few trips.

Slightly OT, but has the forum stopped e-mailing reply notifications? I don’t get them now :frowning:
