it brings me great sadness...

as much as i dont want to do it im having to hang up my gloves for a while, my back is no better and and i cant keep trying to pretend it willfix itself.

so im taking a huge jump and having a rest! :crying: i will still be on here now and then and come to some meets but the time is here…
and so is the doctors note to “take it easy”

Sorry to hear this.

Injuries are fekkers and something like this it’s better to take a step back. Stay in touch with the site!

all the best Daws. not worth over doing yourself to the point you can never go on a bike again, better to rest/take it easy

plenty of time in your life to rest now, ride later im sure

Old age

Sorry to hear that Brett, **** news. best plan though mate, better to take a break now and heal up properly so you can come back to it later, than exacerbate the injury and end up never being able to ride again later down the line.

All the best fella, stay in touch and GWS. I’ll swing buy your place every now and again with the baffles out just to make sure your neighbours remain annoyed by the sound of bikes.

Will you be back for spring/summer??? Or will it be longer?

Hang them up but don’t get rid of them, you might find yourself in a posistion to get back on one day!

What’s wrong with your back?

Really sucks. Hopefully some taking it easy will pay dividends in the long term…

Did you get anywhere with legal stuff?

I’m so sorry to hear this Brett, can imagine how gutted you must feel. Hoepfully with rest and physio it won’t be too long until you are back in the saddle. Hope you still pop along to BM every now and then. We’re all still your mates, even if you aren’t on 2 wheels - hey - I’ve never seen Myan on 2 wheels and I still like him :w00t:

Oh no!!! Don’t get Kev on to the subject of backs! haha and for gods sake don’t ask him about meds lol :stuck_out_tongue:

Trust you Kev to track down the one subject about backs! hehe

Well I could make some suggestions. But to please Tiggi, I shall talk mostly about drugs…

That’s bad news buddy…

Going to see a chiropractor has really helped with my back

I did mention to my doctor about seeing one, he said not to for now (but I can’t remember why) I think he wanted me to try physio first… I can’t remember…

Physio doesn’t seem to be working… (Mainly because I’m still waiting for an appointment) my doctor is going crazy as it has been about 9months I’ve been waiting I think, so he has stepped me up to the 2nd level of physio or something…
Just gotta be patient! :frowning: I can’t “not” attend BM you guys rock!

I have a solicitor on the case,
He reckons I stand a good chance and he said he’s been waiting to take them to court for a while, his daughter used to work for the same company and he said there health and safety standards are unbelievable, he wrote me a nice little draft (that had lots of cocky terms and rants in) he reckons its just a waiting game now… It’s been sent to them with a time frame to pay up or he will take them to court leaving them to pay the fees.
All good so far! (Thanks for all the help on that btw!)

Injured it at work last year and its just not healing.

il never get rid of them, they will only ever be “hung up” ha

I don’t want to put a time frame on it, because if I don’t meet the time frame I set il be really upset! Just gonna take it as it comes and hope to be on two wheels ASAP!

haha! Feel free to pop in mate…

Sorry to hear that you’ve got to have a break, I suffer with back pain so know how you feel on that level, hang on in there and hope you can get out for a bit soon.
All the best
John

And thanks for all the support peeps, I actually thought I’d see a lot of comments telling me to “man up” but I have tried this and failed…

Thanks again and hopefully see you all soon.

I personally would avoid Chiropractors, they require no training and anyone can practise. An Osteopath would be far far better.

If you were injured what diagnostics did they do? Any x-rays, MRI, CAT Scans? Have you been referred to an Orthopaedic Surgeon, or a spinal specialist?

I had years of a useless GP telling me I was getting old and what do I expect. That was at 29.

I finally had a diagnosis at the age of 33 that I have four degenerated disks and one that kept rupturing and that was getting worse on every incident.

Finally had surgery to correct it.

The first thing you really need to get done is to identify the problem.

Anyone who has ever experienced back pain knows how debilitating it can be. No man up comments from me and glad you are making progress with suing the scumbags.

There is actually a lot of training and study involved to become a Doctor of Chiropractic so you are misinformed there Kev… Not just anyone can practice it, it is stringently regulated.

Granted they don’t work for everyone, but it worked for me. It’s the same case with osteopathy.
