Hello, I was wondering if any of you can tell me if you’ve been to the race, if you can share your experience, how to get there, accommodation, tickets, etc., etc.
I have been curious about this race and living in Southern California didn’t give me much freedom to check it out. But now that I am here in London, I thought it’d be a great opportunity to go and it’s closer!
Any suggestion, advice, help, stories will be highly appreciated
Book early sums it up. for the ferry and hotel and everything
taking a ride round, the weather can go from torrential rain to blazing sunshine in a matter of minutes. the weather is SO changeable over there.
Aside from that, the course is amazing. was SO glad I rode it, even if I did go slower than any of you lot would!
don’t worry too much about booking early , if you want to go check out the various web sites dedicated to the TT and ebay there are always cancelations and last minute places to stay too …the last tiem i went was 2007 for the centenery and i found tickets for the boat and B&B the day before i left for heysham and i did the same the previous times i went too … no problems with dates either , got there for the first race and left the following saturday …it’s not quite as free and easy as it used to be , lots of police and speed guns … keep your eyes peeled and speed sensibly and you’ll be ok … ride fast but just don’t look like you are … prices are always loads more for TT time , i did £800 for 8 days …place to stay £30 per night …roughly boat tickets best part of £200 bike and one return …then a full tank at least once a day ( you’ll need that to do lots of laps )
