I need to go to Wigmore street tonight (W1) from the Isle of Dogs.

Anyone have any idea how long it would take leaving at 6pm?

Nah. I used to do Hillingdon to Isle of Dogs every day between 5 and 6. 30 minutes for the 22 miles up the A40 and then 30 minutes from Paddington to Canary Wharf.

I think your best bet is commercial road, london wall, holborn, tottenham court road:
