My bike was caught up in this a couple of months ago. Luckily for me everything was fine on mine but not for the guy riding the bike claiming to have my engine in it!
When I first moved to London in the early eighties there was a large sales and servicing shop in Fulham.
Very popular but with a lot of unlucky customers…they suffered a high incidence of theft…
This was probably due to the fact that said workshop copied keys of bikes being serviced and “sold” to people for stripping… Police found a massive amount of bikes waiting to be ripped apart…
