It’s a “simple” receiver and the “key” is a transponder. 20 year old technology in a fairly new package.

Yes it is old news in the automotive world. Megan Senics have it as an option. Can see how it would be practical to have on a bike.
Well the NSR250R had smart card ignition…
but sounds quite useful to me but still need to fumble the keys for the chain and disklock…
Has anyone tried a more simple keyless system, like a hidden switch?
I was riding down Edgware Road recently and the keys blew out of the ignition barrel! I doubt anyone is going to nick my bike, being old and not pretty, slow and not really much going for it.
