Oh my god - I am soooooooo addicted to this track day malarky I am beginning to feel like a junkie. It’s only been a few days since having a wicked wicked time at Mallory Park and I’m already missing that buzz that only comes from ringing the neck out of your bike, hammering around the track as fast as you can and getting away with things you didn’t think your bike was capable of.
I’m booking one in Spain this morning, come along to that, three days on a huge track in the dry and warm of Spain, your bike shipped over there, hotel etc £550 plus a couple of Ryan Air flights at £20.
That is the kind of track day to quench your thirst, your bike will love you and you’ll earn almost enough points with Hottrax to pay for another one at Snetterton when you get back
STFU! My insurance runs out tonight (I don’t have a trailer or van) and my mate Roger is telling me that the weather is gonna be good from this week onwards and that he’ll be booking another trackday…ALL THE WHILE when I’m trying to end my biking season to give my credit card a rest…Then I read this and its tempestuous connotations towards throwing caution to the wind and booking another track day.
Depends on your experience mate…JB still managed to get his knee down on our very wet August LB trackday there…I managed to slide around Redgate into the gravel (stayed upright thankfully) and almost lose the front twice…Brian did say I was going too fast in the wrong places though
It’s all good experience though. Just ride progressively and keep your attention up to feel what the bike is doing underneath you…With good tyres, you can get away with murder on a bike, but there’s usually a fine line.
