i thought everyone did? :ermm:
He must be from SE London.
I always ride with one hand on the throttle and the other on my trusty shotgun.
Croydon isn’t what it was!
Don’t knock it until you tried it…
well as hand guns are illegal here id say it would be hard for someone in the UK to carry a gun…unless you were strapping your rifle or shotgun to your bike!
I’ve seen biker cops riding with a hand gun.
When I saw it for the first time about 8 years ago & asked the cop at the traffic lights why, he & his colleague had guns the reply i got was “because we are special”, then the lights turned green & he rode off.:ermm:
I’ve been asked if I was carrying a gun before . . . but fortunately it was all real ;)
all the police in northern ireland carry guns, including the motorcyclists
…i was asked if i was carrying a gun. I was in fact just pleased to see her…

Yeah man, mean streets of Peckham. Wouldn’t be cought without my mak10
OK joking aside… has anyone here ever been assaulted, mugged or attacked…
I have and I have seen plenty of those yellow boards around all the different bits of London I frequent. It has crossed my mind to arm myself too… I don’t carry a weapon, but it has crossed my mind…
Anyone else?
I’ve never been assaulted, mugged or attacked. However I will admit that if im travelling to certain places i will carry a weapon. Nothing heavy, just something to even up the odds or put them in my favour. And my girlfriend always has a hammer in the passenger footwell of her car.
Never had to use either of them but I’d rather be prepared and escape with my life then have some nut job hack me up ![]()
i get my girl to carry her tyre iron under her seat just in case, i was attacked about 2 years ago and until that point i couldnt grasp the concept of wanting to stab/shoot/choke to death someone, but for about 4 days afterwards i was tooled up looking for anyone i recognised from the group that attacked me…lol sounds like the script for a channel 5 movie lol

I was mugged once, and to be honest in my own small way I have not got over it, I mean I will not go anywhere near that train station at night now, I would rather get off a couple of stops before of after just to avoid it…
as ShinKuza said, I to a point understand why people tool themselves up…
But on the other hand I had a very good friend, who was murdered because they guy bought a screw driver with him, so what can you do!!
I lived in Brixton and was attacked for “looking” at a guy. He was being really loud, and just caught my attention as I walked past. We made eye contact and that was enough to engage his pissy little ego to posture in front of his “Gangsta” mates… unfortunately there was 7 of them and I was alone.
If I’d have had a weapon I don’t know if I’d have had time to use it. I’d don’t even know if I’d have been able to use it. I wasn’t brought up to think like that. Education has made me believe that if you’re in a fight you’ve already lost.
But I still wish I could have killed all of them. Ignorant little thugs. I still spit on the streets every time I pass the house where the guy lived… police didn’t want to know either. The only consolation I have is that they all still live there, and probably are going to be there for the rest of their lives, making excuses about how everyone’s forgotten them, blaming everyone else for their failures. I just moved house. Pikey violent little effin scumbags. LOSERS
I guess I’ve always lucky, being a bit of a giant and having boxed/ju-jitsu all my life. And don’t really know what it feels like to have been mugged but unless you know how to use what your carrying, it could be a really big mistake, people who mug or attack people usually do it a lot and know what they are doing, so potentially you could be arming them or give them a reason to take your life. No one wants to be a victim but in some instances it could be your life.
Like I said, I’ve thought about carrying, but I think in reality it would be a bad idea really. Often wondered about beefing up this little pigeon chest and putting some muscle somewhere other than where my mouth is… but then getting my arse kicked in a class, so I can avoid getting my arse kicked never seemed a very sensible thing to do
yeah but i’m also a big fella and box BUT around Maidstone and Gillingham that alone seems to attract all the hooligans.
When i was younger growing up in Tottenham one HAD to carry a weapon just to be the same as everybody else.
Luckily i never had to use it in anger…
Carrying a weapon, in my opinion, is a big mistake. You open yourself up to arrest, and in the event of something happening to you, in my experience at best you won’t have chance to use your weapon, and at worse you will escalate the situation to something way out of your control. The chances are, that if you are in the process of being mugged, the robber is not alone (even if he/she appears to be) and you are going to lose big time. Although it may hurt your pride, running away or handing over your phone/wallet are often the safest options.
