So looks like this one is a runner, what about the other “Hard Arse” entrants? This in common with other Jetstream rideouts will include heritage sites and a cream pie tea. My intimate nowledge of the north west will prove a delight to all.Time to check your tank range and choice of clothing before the big day. And my chance to ride free of the drudgery of pillion shipping.
Should you not know Derbyshire, the Yorkshire Dales or the Lake District this is indeed an unmissable experience.
No 125s, learners or riders made of sugar.
Partaking of the Dunstable down run the day before is not a prerequisite but would help in our mental preparation for the ride up to Squires cafe.
So far its just me and Rob C, not sure hes doing Dunstable Downs.
Nice to see you other “iron butt” entrants on this little bimble, Sherrie, Mark, Liam and Kev are you up for this one? (we missed Button Monkey off because we saw this weekend how a BMW performed on the Ladies Rideout) :w00t:
Not doing the Downs, also, on the day I’ll be going at a slower pace. First ride out ect…
I’m looking at getting 500 miles in this weekend as a warm up to the warm up Polish War Memorial/RAF Northolt - Fishguard A40 - M40 - A40. Cup of Welsh Tea, turn round and come back. May do that Sunday.
Unfortunately im going to be in swindon that weekend, pre-arranged weekend for a friends birthday, and im gona be moving home at the end of the month too, unless we can organise a warm up first weekend in june, i think im gona be going in blindfolded. That is of course if the application is accepted.
Picked up my Gixxer 750 yesterday from Birmingham and came back down to London … via Grimsby.
According to the twatnav, it was 380 miles in total (incl. towns and cities and in the rain) at an average speed of 76 mph. I may need to think seriously about using the Gixxer and not the Rex…
Can’t make this. The A65 is a lovely road and have done it many times in the car. Takes you to the Devil’s Bridge at Kirby Lonsdale (local biker hangout). Have jumped of that bridge (big rush).
There are some lovely roads in Derbyshire as well.
I might partake but after doing over 1600 miles this weekend and the twatnav causing double the effort ('kin thing) I might give it a miss, will be doing the Dunstable one the day before. I’ll be trampling over those grounds you list the end of July Jetstream…beautiful part of the country and some lovely roads to boot. :w00t:
If I haven’t got an iron butt by now there’s nothing more you can do for me
lol bless we have not long been home from the Dunstable ride to Bournemouth and he is sparko on the couch I wont wake him, he needs his beauty sleep (and I like the double bed to myself)
No chance of that in Jetstream household tonight. Just finished dinner (yes I came home and cooked a dinner) and the bike has been washed !!! Chain lubed and now maps are being pored over. :w00t:
