The battery of my ipod mini only lasts 30-40 mins now. Is there a cheap option to replace the battery, or just buy a unbranded new mp3 player?

Which ipod do you have?I have an ipod mini and after about 2 years the battery was playing up. I went to the Apple shop to get them to replace the battery for me and they just gave me a new ipod mini!! Cost me £50. The only reason they gave me a whole new ipod instead of just a battery is because its an old model so they had old stock there.
DON’T waste money on expensive iPods. Simply think of your favourite tune and hum it. If you want to “switch tracks”, simply think of another
song you like and hum that instead.;):P:D

Doh! Just re-read your post properly and I see your’s is also an ipod mini. It’s definitely no problem to change the battery. Be careful though as I first went to an ‘apple authorised dealer’ in the west end who charged me £40 but he put another crap battery in it instead of a new one. Best go to the one of the real apple shops.
Thanks - so only Regent St then? Bit reluctant to spend £40 - £50 just on a new battery. But when I bought a Medion MP3 player from ebay it stopped working even when it was hardly being used.P.S. This thread was inspired by the fact I listen to my ipod on my bike and should not therefore be moved to LB’s new White Goods section :DAnd Chunky, I would, it’s just the switch tracks bit I find difficult!
Wow thanks David. Read the instructions on there, then had the thought to look on ebay so bought for £3.
