The one I posted on is currently on my bike,it is the best I have seen and works really well, also has holes for the camera on your phone so you can record your ride.
You can change the settings so it never auto-locks.Yeah you cant use it with gloves on but I have learnt to leave my right glove fairly loose and then when I get to traffic lights quickly whip it of,do what
I need to do and then back on.
If your using the iPhone supplied maps app think about downloading NavFree it’s a free turn by turn Sat Nav for the UK and ROI with post code lookup (post codes have to be downloaded from their store after installation, again free)
I have the Biologic bike mount for iPhone 4 & am completely impressed! As for the MCN Ride Logger… Im addicted! There are quite a few good apps. for biking!
I have one of these - Clicky. Most of the mounts I looked at wouldn’t take the phone with a case and I really didn’t want to be taking the case off all the time. With this one you just put the phone in with case still on, zip closed and attach to the mount (all bits included). The plastic face is the sort that allows you to use the phone without opening it up (still need to take your glove off). The whole thing can swivel around so you can have it oriented however you want. Not been out in the rain with it so I can’t comment on the waterproofness, but it’s got to be better than nothing at all. So far so good and pretty good value.
The problem with all of these mounts is that they don’t fit on Sports Bikes. I have a GSXR, I don’t really have any bar space. I have little stubby bars that pretty much stop at the connector to the forks. As in the picture shown below.
Someone suggested mounting to the front fairing bracket, under the clocks there is a bar that goes straight to the Frame.
But apart from building something from scratch, I am not really sure what I can use to mount my iPhone on my bike so that it is in a usable position?
p.s. Yes I use MCN Ride Logger, it is great, but you do have to wire your iPhone into your bike as the GPS (at least on the older ones) does tend to kill the battery pretty damn fast.
I also used that NavFree, went from Hastings to London and forgot to connect the phone, it drained it flat before I got home.
