ok, i know its been said a million times, but was just wondering, if many people are in london, but theyre insurance is actually registered elsewhere, maybe parents house etc?
feel free to pm me anyone who doesnt want to post up…lol
and what happens if you have an accident, or have to claim of the insurance? do they have to visit ur address, inspect bike etc etc?
Is it justified to say you were visiting people?
or what other ways do you have of saving money living in london? (i looked at the insurance website thingie, but nothing in london is better than a group D
im always moving around, so never realy class where im staying as ‘home’ until i get my own place, home is where the parents are. Everytime i move i have to get licence, log books etc etc changed, maybe every 6mths or so!
and be registered to vote there, and have all your bank statements/bills etc sent there, and don’t register any utility bills in your name to your London address - unless of course you have two residences, and can prove it to the insurance company when you make a claim, and obviously you’re parents neighbours won’t ever tell the insurance assessor that they haven’t seen you since you were 16
F**k all this ‘but you’d be breaking the law’ ****** from the online rozzers here, that’s certainly not gonna stop you if you’re thinking about it, what you should be thinking about is that if you’re bike is written off and they find out you will get nowt:w00t: Don’t do it mate, you’re effectively gambling the cost of your bike against a couple of hundred quid saving.
I definatly agreee and anyway I live in the heart of london and pay £290 for my Gsxr 600 and feel this is cool…I could save a few quid if I registered at my sisters in essex but you have to change your license and registration details and I cant be arsed… :PFor the person asking how old are you, How many no claims, Where do you live??? Joey
Glad you agree but not too sure of your reasoning for it.
Yep, if the insurance company found out someone had done this then yep, they wouldn’t get a a penny back and of course, that would be bad.
I only stated what I did to let peeps know that if anyone risked that and they got caught then it would mean a criminal record (if they didn’t have one already) and I’m sure I don’t need to say how a criminal record with a dishonesty offence (thats what fraud is) would affect any future prospects regarding work and other things etc etc.Only trying to be helpful but if you feel that my friendly advice - thats all it was - is ****** (whatever that was), then just ignore it.
Easy tiger, lets face it, if he’s even considering doing such a thing then anyone telling him that he’s breaking the law isn’t going to change his mind is it? Likewise with speeding popping wheelies etc, we all know it’s illegal but we all do it, and anyone, cop or not who claims they have never broken any laws is a complete liar. My 2 bobs worth over.
Lol, I’m easy.
Just putting my point across. The thing is most peeps have a line that they won’t cross and some just don’t realise that what may seem like something minor like giving a different address to an insurer is actually something pretty major when it comes to the law.No matter, we both agree anyway to not do it !!Trojan (enforcin the law enforcin the law)
I register the bike / car at the location it will spend most of its time. As a student this meant that with weekends and long holidays this genuinely was my parents’ address
