my plan would be to buy it back and rebuild it but i havnt got a clue how this scrap price works my net lose etc

just sell it and buy my thou:P

haha very helpfull i might buy it you never know

If you have any intention of keeping the bike, do not let them take the bike away until you have agreed a scrap value (often you can negotiate on their first offer by referring to market values in the classifieds). They will phone you repeatedly and put pressure on you to take the bike away, because they have an arrangement with the breakers who split the bike and sell the bits, but you do not have to surrender the bike.

if the bike is repairable by your self , go onto the intertnet and price up all genuine parts it will cost to get it back to mint, wen he comes to see it , dont let him take it anywhere and give him your list, the insurance company paying the bills can offer whats called a “cash in lieu” which is a cheque for the parts . this will save them money for labour and you can also pull an extra bit of cash from it if u get the parts cheap, hope this helps
