Indicator Help

For some reason, my rear indicators have stopped working. The front ones are fine

Any suggestions???

How would you know, you use them!!

Seriously, you may have a blown bulb, or blown fuse, or if there’s an indicator rectifier box - that’s used when you got micro indicators sometimes, to prevent rapid flashing (oh err, missus!) - that might have gone bang.

Start with the simple things to check then move along to the more complex

Bulbs, fuses, rectifier box, wiring loom, electrician

oh gawd, you lost me at bulbs

check the wires under the rear seat that they have not come apart.

Sherri,

If you’re not overly confident, ask a local LB’er to come n help.

I am not local

And do what Andy said!

Have the stopped completely or is it intermittant ?

stopped completely

I think you missed a joke there…

Fink it was a bit to technical for a girlie

Fink she is going to be waiting for you behind the grass bank at the ace for that comment

Terry,

Always a winner!

Sherrie

When you say it’s stopped is the light coming on and staying on or no light at all?

Chunks

They don’t come on at all. Both front ones are working correctly, it’s just the rear ones.

Sounds like bulbs, or fuses,

You’ve got aftermarket front and rear? I know deffo rear aftermarket

When my front (OE) bulb smashed, rear one (aftermarket) still worked but started flashing to quickly - calmed down once new bulb put in front indicator.

Under your rear seat (usually), you should have a little box-like thingie that’s got fuses in it (little red glass-type thingies). You should pop them out one by one and have a look inside them (you can’t take them apart) to see whether any of the fuses are cracked. If so, there’s one problem solved.

You might need to pry them off one by one (gently!), but make sure to put each one back after you’ve taken it out or you might mix em up.

If it’s not fuses, then it’s wiring somewhere and I’ve no idea how that all works beyond actually wiring indicators in.

Failing any of that, ask someone to look tommoz? There will be a lot of LBers buzzing about to help (ones that know what they’re talking about, too! - Bonus!)

*Apologies for all the thingie-age, but this is how my little brain works.

If it was a fuse then none of the lamps would work.

Quite. Possible it’s two bulbs gone, but sounds like a wiring problem. Hopefully just a loose connection. What’s the flash rate like on the front two?

My money’s on the wiring connections, specially if they are aftermarket jobbies

Did you get it sorted Sherrie?

Still not sorted, my own fault really. With the weather being crap I haven’t taken it to where I was supposed to to get them looked at by somebody

Will try and take it sometime this week and will let you know what the problem is/was
