Indicator gap fillers

Looking at building my indicators into the headlight and wondering if any knows where i can find something to fill the gap thats gonna be left??

You really are intent on stopping drivers seeing your winkers aren’t you?

IMO it makes it difficult to see flashers when your headlights are so close.

is that legal on a bike?

Why doesn’t the guy videoing (is that how you spell it?) show the L indicator from the front?!!..could it be cos the headlight makes it invisible from the front? From the side that looks bright enough for sure, but I dunno about that one mate.

I was close to ordering an integrated tail light from High Tech Speed (people who make proton flushmounts) but decided it was too dodgy; I’ve already been cut up a couple of times with the stock indicators on - but then at least I’ve known it wasn’t my fault.

It is tempting for sure to neaten up the lines of the bike, esp when you see how sexy track and race bikes look without all the road-going clutter like plates and mirrors etc. I’m considering taking the mirrors off after seeing how sick a couple of bikes at Borough looked last week, but I’ve settled for Rizoma LED indicators instead of integrated ones.

To each his own though mate. I’ll have people telling me I’m a fool for riding without mirrors, and they’ll be right!

yes in my humble opinion your asking for trouble if you hide your indicators…even cars are doing it and i regularly cannot see indicators flashing when looking head on at a car…not so bad but a bike.,…may be real, bad news for you if someone genuinely does not see them and has you off…

But as has been said each to their own…I would want them bolder bigger and brighter…

Do the highway regulations over there require amber reflectors on the front and red reflectors on the rear, visible from the side? Every state in the US of A, does and generally they do it on motorcycles be making the turn signals front and rear more obvious with a reflector.

After all the crankiness about Number plates being too small, I’d be careful that SOME reg is not being violated.

vid = parn.

Sorry mate, L B

hmm, well mate i personally wouldnt do it again, i had it on my fz6, people who followed me and were coming towards me were complaining they couldnt see my winkers. it may look trim but isnt great for safety. Im even putting bigger indicators on the tl.

No mate, thats how we tell if a bike is a US import, it’s covered in reflectors:)The only legal requirement we have for reflectors is one red one at the rear.

All my indicators are intergrated and they’re very visible. The gaps have been covered with Yamaha badges as shown.

I think its a very clean solution, I use to do similar thing back in the days with my beetle’s, Always passed the MOT. The most important thing is people see you indicting from the rear, so they don’t rear end you.

You could always go really old-skool and stick ur arm out!!!

That does look good:), have you not of thought of jus having flush mounts?? i know a lot out there are just cheapo ****, i paid a lot for mine about £70 with shipping and insurance from the states but i cannot think of the name of the company im sure it was watson-design or something like that Jay will know he put me onto them, he had em on one of his Gixxers or if anyone else knows let me know as its bugging me know and no amount of searching Google helps!!

they come colour coded and with resistors and when off they aint that noticible

SheWoolf: that looks seriously clean! Good solution to use the Yamaha badges! Genius!

Flatout: I know what you mean about the cheap stuff out there! I was looking at the ones you’re on about too, but decided on Rizomas in the end.You were right on the name, wrong on the spelling (why you were getting nothing on Google). They’re from WATSEN DESIGN, look here http://www.watsendesign.com/Curtis: Realise this thread is a bit old so not sure if you’ve already gone ahead and done the mod. Let us know what you settled for if you have. If not then Watsen Design (website above) do some flushmounts for the 675 if you’re interested.

nice one i Knew it was that, with some dodgy spelling of watsen noted for future reference!!!
