take no notice easy rider , old guy is full of “it” … impact guns are a very useful tool for getting very tight nuts undone , front sprocket nuts …how do you hold it still to undo old guy foot on the brake or lock the chain or rear wheel with a piece of wood in gear ?
front crankshaft nuts on a car engine when you can’t get to the flywheel to hold it ?
wheel nuts that twist a socket extension to try and nudo and who carries a breaker bar incase of a puncture ?
generator crankshaft bolts , hold the other end and risk twisting the crank ?
not a last resort at all , a very useful tool to have in the box
thats why SNAPON sell them as well as woolworths depends how often you use them
I do remember saying that I owned one which kind of indicates that, along with the lump hammer and cold chisel, the big Stilson wrenches, the nut splitter, I have used one. A while since I’ve used it, but as I recall, a decent branded make wrench kit. So what?
I’ve managed all of the items keith-17 raised without resorting to the “desparation” box.
Since mentioned, car wheel nuts are what, 45/50 ft. lb? Why would I fanny around with an impact wrench and hammer when a 9" ring spanner does the job so easily?
You guys carry on using your impact wrenches whenever you like. I’ll use mine only when I need to. O.K?
