One of the many reasons I am thinking of vacating this country.
Oh and not forgetting the chav scum family makers who make a career of popping sprogs out because they cant be ar$ed to work and receive more money on the social than those of us who try to do things properly by contributing to this country and not be able to afford to live.

How is that regarding to biking community?
Yes, I’m an immigrant… I’m not claiming any benefits, I pay my taxes, I’m working within Met Police Family, helping community to prevent crime. What do you have to say about it?
One of my visa conditions was that I CANNOT get Government contributions. As I don’t have a NI number yet (8 weeks apparently) I’m still paying emergency tax.
As with people being solely dependant on Gov contributions, I think it’s ridiculous. If they want to live in poverty-stricken conditions, let them. Cut off their benefits, get them off their lazy butts and make them get a job if they want money.
If I can get work within two weeks of being in UK, I’m sure anyone can.
In Australia it’s the same. There are people there who live on Gov benefits because they can. The system is too easy.
A question though - I’m an immigrant. Would you put me in the same group as all the others?
It is very difficult to get benifits on a visa here. Like Daise said, I know of at least 2 visa types that won’t let you collect benifits.
Ecconomically, it’s good having lots of immigrants coming here to work. There are plenty of sectors which have or are shrivelling down to nothing. I’m surprised we even produce and food at all for ourselves. We have next to nothing in the way of motor building. All of the uni students are coming into work with electrical/comms/computer degrees, and so manual sectors like plumbing and building and stuff are really suffering.
At the end of the day though, England has always had lots of immigrants, it’s the nature of being an island in between Europe and Scandinavia. There isn’t a lack of work here.

I personally have no problem with any immigrant who comes here and pulls their weight and contributes.
I also made reference to the (english) uneducated scum and scumette who cant keep their legs shut, mouse in house career families who earn a living from having children!
the only way this world will resolve its strife is by inetegration…The saddest problem is that some and an ever growing number of those some, people come here and segregate…not sure why that is, we are a very easy going people under most circumstances…
If you are of an ethnic minority it will be one of the sticks we use to beat you with, just like if your a biker you will be tarred with the biking brush…thats just the way people are…
we all have our prejudices, a lot brought on by our parents views and to some extent our own experiences, I got attacked by two afro caribean types, I have to say that the pair of them were complete nasty idiots but that does not prejudice my view of them all…I deal in africa and most are genuine people with a genuine problem that they have yet to resolve…but put me within 10 paces of my ex wife who is caucasian…whatever the **** that means…and I am ready to commit murder…
I say the more the merrier…just integrate with us dont come here and fight us and take our money…my cleaner is a pole…(too old to be a dancer) two of my staff are european one is iranian…and our last two employees where of asian or african descent…they work and earn a living…
Let the facts speak for themselves most immigrants are nice people, but as you would expect there are good and bad in all walks of life…like my ex…
Some good views here. I like to see both sides of the coins represented.May I bore people with the same old facts? Romans, Anglo Saxons, Normans, Vikings… all have been here and intergrated their DNA and cultures into our own. We are a mongel race.
My grandfather escaped Nazi Italy and walked accross Europe to get the UK. I dread to think of the prejuidice his family endured living in a country where his countrymen were bombing. It’s like the attitude to Muslims since the 9/11 and 7/7. However, whilst I have that opinon, I am also of the opinion that the Government has only just started to enforce conditions on immigration laws. How many people were lost in the system - 100,000+. No records of where they are or what they are doing. It’s a system failure. It also fails families bought here and who are then sold into slavary… in this day and age, that’s appalling to contemplate but it happens all around us.
I like the diverse cultures. I don’t like the extra rights they are afforded though. I dislike the the stinking attitude of those who think because there were born in this country, they have a right to dictate who is allowed in or not. That is not aimed at anyones previous postings. Yes, I agree that the benefits are handed out too easily. Seemingly people can get off a plane at Luton with a placard saying ‘give us a home’ and get one by the end of the day, whilst others have been on the waiting lists for years. Mind you that was 15 years ago, not sure if that still happens.
I like the views of the immigrant LBers, makes people stop and consider who it is they are aiming their opinions at. Not that anyone should not be entitled to their opinons… but we should consider those amongst us.
I don’t think there will ever be world peace, it’s not human nature. More people demand their rights… yet people are becoming more narrow minded - how does that work? :ermm:incidently - my sister has 4 kids and has been on benefits since she was 17, that’s 12 years. She does struggle but that’s because she feels the need to spoil her kids as a substitute for a father. She also smokes. People pay taxes on tampax, tobacco, alcohol… the Tresuray is one big pot, all taxes go in and so in a way these people pay towards themselves… still nothing compared to the £100’s we pay in income tax & NI. Food for thought though
of course these thousands of claimants embarass taxpayers, it doesn’t really depend on ethnic origin I thinkas a Pole I still find the Brits as a very warm welcome-giving society 
and I can understand sometimes you (Brits) can loose your temper - I personally heard many immigrants moaning about what they don’t like here. It’s like coming for a dinner and telling the Host that the food is s**t and sofa’s uncomfyit’s best not to judge by badge as twostrokesliveon said

I’m an immigrant. Been paying taxes for 13 years, wife is an immigrant, full time mother too.
If you pay your way, you earn the right to live in the country of your choice. I’m more bothered by local chav’s just claiming on the dole than the purported immigrants coming to claim. Most of the “immigrants” I’ve met have come for a better standard of life that they want to work for.
As to me, I accept the laws and customs of this country, I speak English, not Engleeesh, Angliase, Engerlish or Egrish. I also do not say I have religious issues that prevent me from working with people, or play on my disabilities (which I do have).
All in all, work like you actually want to be here and you will find that most people will respect your contribution to the country. But please, lets vote Labour out and get taxes down again!!!
I think the “Inconvenient Truth” is that a persons immigration status probably doesn’t have much to do with whether or not they attempt to game the system. Some people are just lazy, addicted and/or worthless to begin with…English/Pole/Lithuanian/Mexican/American…I don’t believe that it is nationality/geographically dependent.
America is having this debate as a society right now…centered on the massive influx of immigrants from Central and Latin America. Some of those people come to game the system…to live off the taxes of the productive members of society. Just as many of the people already here, whether American by birth or not, game the system and live off the taxpayers.
Most come for the opportunity to work…to better their own lives…and that of their kids. Fair play…if I was in their shoes, I would do the same thing given the choice or opportunity. (Work to better my own life and those of my kids, that is.)
At the end of the day, I don’t care “where” someone is from…I mean, it just doesn’t matter to me. It’s about contribution…is a person contributing to the society in which they live in a meaningful way?
Exactly. The problem is the ease with which benefits can seemingly be claimed which promotes laziness amoung the ever increasing few.
I dont know how people live on benefits, it isnt a lot of money…is it? anyone know…and I thought the numbers on benefit was dropping not increasing…its just this government trying to save every penny it can so it can take our guys off to another ill conceived war…so its blaming immigrants for wasting our money,…I dont truly believe anything this government tells us…we must all remember the old government stance of 60% of all accidents were caused by speeding then, it went to a third and now the facts are its a tiny proportion…and does anyone remember seeing the advet for the car doing supposedly 35mph skidding down the road with the front wheels locked up…total crap…at 30mph a modern car will stop in its own length…it certainly wont go skidding down the road smoking its tyres…more lies from the government…

enlighten me, what population, the unemployed…you should know me by now i dont do perceptions I do facts…or at least the best facts I can get…and the latest figures are that unemployment and those claiming benefits is down…but only just after almost a year of increases…
So fact is… are jobs up, unemployment down…these are the facts…but only just…
the most worrying facts are those that have remained unemployed for over a year…no real change but the trend is upwards…die hard shirkers or single mothers bringing up well balanced kids…you better believe it …

ok reverse this debate… how many Brits have emigrated abroad? I was listening to something on the radio about how many thousands of British citizens have taken over whole areas of places like Austrailia - do the people of that land object as loudly as we do? Makes you wonder. The government doesn’t lie… it spins. I kin hate red tape! :crazy:
