Illegal stuff on bikes

I want to get a black visor. Is that legal or illegal?

What makes an exhaust illegal?

Probably simple questions for bad ass bikers like yourselves but I have to ask as I really want to change my exhaust and get a black visor on my Arai Astro

Oh come on people!!

I need to buy the visor online in the next hour

Choc, legally dark visors aren’t allowed as I think the law permits a visor must let in so much sunlight) so if you buy one say it’s for track day use . I’ve been using a black visor for most of the summer and always carry a clear one with me. It’s been a godsend in the bright sunlight and is safer than wearing sunglasses.

Its not like dark visors affect vision anyway

Just found a helpful post about visors under products and upgrade

not at all. I was once caught out going home after work, it was quite late and I’d forgotten the clear one. Wasn’t a problem but I wouldn’t ride with a dark visor after dusk, though some people do. tis all down to personal choice! justine

There are varying regulations etc for both…

basically,

the common denominator for both is the ‘Kite mark’.

a street legal tinted visor often displays it along with ‘daytime use only’ around the base and near where the visor clips to the lid…

the can is pretty much the same, the kite mark often near the end.

race cans are a bit of a giveaway even to untrained plod as most display ‘Not for road use’ or similar…

DON’T scratch it off or try to cover it as that just raises suspicions!!

Best thing to do?

Buy a visor of your choice but keep a clear one WITH you…

If you can get a can with REMOVEABLE baffles, do.

But keep the baffles WITH you…(under the seat usually)

this way , what ever you get tugged for you can rectify on the roadside.

If you want anymore PM me!
