I think if the first chap had looked in his mirrors and checked his blind spot it could have been avoided. By the time he’d checked his blind spot he would have seen the front forks and probably not made the turn.

that’s why I would still feel better at a Track Day to have my mirrors out. Since peopel tell you only to worry about what’s a head… yeah right… if an idiot comes behind and hits you… what then?? look ahead still???
This is why I won’t ride with people I don’t know! Too many idiots with little skill.
