Just got through a notice of prosecution. I was driving at 58mph past a school, but let’s be clear, I didn’t see any signs saying “Driving at 58mph past a school is f*cking stupid, don’t be an arsehole”
When I got pulled by the old bill, they failed to follow the correct procedure, the Policeman had a stutter and said “I am am am arresting you…” How can that be allowed to go unchallenged? Am I expected to be able to decipher stuttering when being arrested.
Next, it turns out my MOT and insurance are invalid. Apparently, you need to pay all your premiums, or they lapse it, seems the letter from the insurance company saying “You have not paid your premium and are no longer covered” was posted using second class, and as I live in a flat, my post is often misplaced. How can I be expected to know what an insurance company does when you stop paying the premiums.
Last thing bit, is the MOT. I thought the 3 year rule (which it turns out applies to new bikes only) was on all MOTs. It seems prejudiced against older bikes that they have to be MOTd every 12 months (Be warned people) not every 36 months. I did wonder, especially as my tyres were bald - but you know - what the police don’t know, can’t hurt you, right?
So, what can I do now? Does anyone know any good get outs? Appreciate that to some, speeding on an unroadworthy, uninsured bike, past a school might seem to be pushing your luck, but I think it’s the nanny state gone mad, what ever happened to personal freedom.
aha i think you might be screwed there mate but you could try insanity, declare that you are holier than thou, and that your reasons outweigh the law, as for the tyres, i would argue that IF a child had stepped out near the school, the baldness may have helped with drifting round the child, instead of knocking them down.

Yeah, you’re in Nigeria so man up, stop whinging & follow the rules - next time make sure there’s a few dollars inadvertently folded up with your licence when you hand it over…

I’m sure you’ll be absolutely fine as ong as you use that exact wording as your closing argument in court! The judge will think you’re completely out of touch with reality and probably offer you a position on his bench! :w00t:
