The crappiest, most stupid and/or dangerous drivers all seem to have something hanging from their rear view mirror. Has anyone else noticed this? Is it some form of secret signal? If you haven’t noticed this before, check it out when you’re out and about, I reckon you’ll be amazed how often it bears out. 
My old man’s theory, 40 years ago, was that you should be very carefull around men wearing hats while driving. In those days it was trilbies and flat caps.
Now it’s baseball caps so he wasn’t that far off the mark.
Curiously, the dangly bits and the baseball caps seem to go together quite often. You might well be right.
My dad was much the same, rien ce change.
I wanted furry dice for the trike but alas, they wouldn’t last long. Although I had an idea of metal furry dice on knicker elastic hanging off the mirrors, perhaps more durable and fun with pedestrians on sharp corners.

Yes, I have noticed these are often in the form of mini dangling flags indicating allegiance to the ‘International Highway Code’ (of not looking, not indicating, not bothering with passing a test before driving and not understanding the concept of insurance.)
Here in Germany we have a funny rule that if you see a roll of toilet paper in the back window with a hand-knitted little “hat” on it, it means the driver is an old man, often wearing a hat, and driving an Opel. Usually found going 60 km/h in an 80 zone, right in front of you
