In this dream on my Honda Hornet I gave it a handful but the roads were damp and it sort of wheelied then crossed up and I slammed into the deck slid along for a bit. Picked bike up and it was mullered…
It seemed so real, probably because I know what the feeling is like. I was dreaming and I thought when I woke up it was real, but then I realised it had been a dream and the bike was safe and sound. For a few moments I had that sinking feeling that no it was not a dream the bike was a wreck… know what that is like, when you dream your bike is a write off, then you wake up and it is Two months now since my little accident. It happened on 13th Sept. So today I took the car… no way was I riding today.
hmm something is worrying you…fix it and the problem will go away…says aunty twostrokeliveson:P…honestly though i would say keep riding or the fear will get worse…i guess…what does everyone else think…
getting quite down about it now and its only been a week and a few days…i feel like an invalid…like im a pain in the arse all the time…and i cant breath properly or it hurts…and i haven’t had a good nights sleep since,as i have to sit up and sleep…if thats what you call it…just replays in my mind all the time…
i haven’t even sat on the bike since…nor really pulled the cover off it…bad i know but this has really bitten me in the core…don’t think I’ll give it up or anything…but just feeling really weird like somethings changed inside of me…might be that im just sniveling in my own self pity…but its how i feel right now…i just wish it was all a bad dream…
sorry for unloading guys…just have to get it out…try not to worry jamie…all you can do is be the best rider you can be…its all any of us can do…
Sorry to read about the bad dreams and the reminders of the ‘offs’. Seriously, if one has had an ‘off’ due possibly to rider inattention, then get advanced training. It is very cheap and good fun via the many IAM affiliated bike groups. I seriously doubt if any who went on the ‘Muddy lanes’ run I did on Sunday with the LAM would ever low-side on a real tarmac road again, even with splashes of diesel about.
I get that dream often. I’m usually in a car or on a bike and I’m heading towards a hazard, whether that be a sharp bend or a car in front. I just can’t stop the vehicle in time.
ooh m-daytona, do you still compete, I havent this year but was regularly competing in the masters…was hoping to do the channel a couple years ago but had a slight off and put me out of the water for 12/13 weeks, screwed up my fitness and still fighting to regain it…
Not anymore, thought of getting into triathlons for a change, but I think the bike would kill me, that’s my weakest part of the race, maybe I will at some point.
If you’re injured, then swimming is the best sport to help you recover, in fact it’s the best way of keeping fit without injury! too bad most pools are so bad in this country!
Chin up mate, it’s only been a week or so, these things take time, once everything has healed you’ll be feeling more positive and I would say that you’re missus would rather have you as a pain in the arse for a few weeks than only have a picture of you to look at!
PM if you fancy a chat sometime, I’m happy to pop by as I’m only down the road…
m8 i still have dreams from when i came off on the roundabout every detail and that was in july # i wake up wen i smash me elbow into the floor… not bloody nice
One of the funniest replies I’ve ever read on LB Stevie…Nuts - Well done for taking the car mate, I’d have definitely seen that as a sign. Just make sure when you get out on the bike again you take it really easy! Smiled - I’ve never had an off (touch wood), so I can’t say “I know how ya feel”, but just take it easy and try and do things to take your mind off the accident, may be PS3 (if your into it) or something similar, don’t rush back, let nature take it’s course and remain positive mate…
yeah, I’ve had funny dreams on and off. Sometimes like going under a truck, seen that happen to a guy once one of those 999 type programs. Thanks guys, sleep well don’t have nightmares  Had a stressful journey home on Monday night, probably what triggered it. It was dark, very cold and stupid busy… We should all take it a bit easier now it is cold and damp out.
I don’t dream at all. Lights out close eyes, wake up 7/8 hours later feels like no time at all.
Of course I must dream (everyone who enters REM state does) but then I have never recalled them or even had an inkling that I dreamt about something when I wake up.
