I Fkin Hate Bullies......!!!!!

Ok…im still wound up a treat so sorry if i babble abit…Just got home from work and what a shift…see…Theres this guy at work and he dont get things right all the time…he’s the brunt of peoples jokes and gets the piss taken out of him most of the time…

Now…Ive just been promoted at work as a Crew Cheif…I get a Crew at the start of the day and supervise eveything…(i also roll up my sleeves and get stuck in…unheard of from a crew cheif but there ya go)

Anyway…this guy was assigned to my crew today,so i thought ide give him a break…i gave him as much as an easy day as i was able and i could not fault him…(after a few choice words about not flapping about ;))…

So…we walked into the crew room…it was close to home time as every plane came in early bar one flight that was running late…now i knew that ide be on the flight so stood in the corner getting stuff ready…and all the lads in the crew room were chatting and laughing among themselves…the lad got his bike gear on…(he rides a 125…cg i think)…and sat down on his todd waiting to clock out…

So…about 5 mins later…this hat appears and one of the lads says someone has to stay back (with me)…to do the final flight but it aint untill another 40 mins away…(managers orders)…shuffles the hat…and another lad picks a name out…yup…its the guy in the bike gear…

So my ears perk up and i glance at this kid in the bike gear…i can honestley say he looked gutted…but darn’t say anything for fear of a ripping…

So i walk over too this hat and grabed a fistfull of the paper inside…opened a few up …and they are all his name…

I lost it…completley…i started to argue with the so called ring leader and it soon became heated…i went to grab him by the scruff of the neck and a buddy of mine jumped on me…and pulled my arm…i went insaine!!!

My manager came rushing out from the office and started waffeling…i told him he should grow some fkin balls and to stop trying to earn cool points with certain people…(or words to that effect)…so the argument went from this ring leader to my manager…

Now…as some of you know…i have been suspended from work twice this year for sticking up for myself against upper managment and another bloke from another shift giving it the large…ohh yea…and there was that one last year aswell…lol…

This was bang out of order and he should have not been stitched up atall…so i tell my manager to go FFFFkkk himself while getting pulled into the locker room by a few mates that had just came in and saw me at it again…lol…

After a few mins my manager comes in and tells me he’s not going to report/suspend me…and my flight is in Heathrow aerospace…

I did the flight and rode home still so angry …ive calmed down a wee bit now afer a cuppa and a ciggi…but thing like that really get my goat…i was bullied at school and i didnt for one min…think it would be this severe at work…

rant over now…and breath shane…breath…

smiled:angry:.

In a way you were right about what happened and i’m glad you stuck up for the bloke but your reaction was a bit heavy to your manager. I’m hotheaded like yourself but i calm myself down a bit before fireing on all cylinders.
If you have to see the boss about what happened expalin the bullying thing and they won’t be able to sack you for defending someone.

Same as JohnP. You need to be calm and couch it in terms that the management can understand. Bullying is something that the worker can kick up a huge fuss about, resulting in a few people being sacked for such behaviour. Go to the management again in a calm frame of mind, apologise for your behaviour over the incident (yes, it takes balls to do that too) and then lay out clearly and calmly what the situation was and why you kicked off.

Well done you, i would have done the same and am the same.

Cant abide bullies and can orientate a situation in seconds when something is not right or the picture is being painted in front of myself. Been in the raz-mans office on more than one occasion for use of own mind, power and law. That is wicked to write x’s name on all pieces of paper, just so they do not have to stay behind a while because they cant be ars*d.

Shame on them, and i hope it all pans out for you with the boss fella

Apologies if this is a silly question but - how did you manage to get promotion despite three recent suspensions?

Good on you sticking up for others

FFS - when you said you were wound up earlier I didn’t ralise it was that bad - just thought some1 had been a cork.

Fair play to ya - there are plenty of underdogs without anyone to champion them.

On the other hand, some underdogs become accustomed to being championed and thus don’t do ought for themselves…

Its a balance fella

im Phuckin good at my job…;).

well im alot calmer now this morning…and cant wait too go into work and face em again…thank god its the last day today and i get 3 wonderfull days off…roll on 23:00…lol:P…and I just bought a big bottle of Jack Daniles…!!!:w00t:.

smiled:D.

I totally understand where you are coming from - I had a quite a rough time growing up for family and other reasons and consequently I developed a hair trigger personality - nice and calm 99% of the time but ready to pull the pin so to speak if I or someone else was subject to crap treatment.Trouble is I’ve burnt a few bridges over the years by letting people know exactly what I think of them and have to live with the consequences, lost opportunities, work etc.

Last year I was treated really badly by the boss of this company I was freelancing for - it was so rude that in the past I would have called him a c*nt and asked him if he wanted to escalate the situation - but I remembered the results of this kind of reaction in the past, also the fact that my agent got me the job and i didn’t want to let her down, plus my job sector is quite a small world - and you don’t want to get a reputation as a nutter.

So this last time I made a formal complaint - my agent supported me and I walked out with my head held high. If I had given him what he deserved - the repercussions can follow you down the line and the situation gets bigger and more serious than it has to be.

In a situation like this take a deep breath, count to ten - and then engage brain - most likely you will decide to deal with it through the ‘proper channels’ e.g. with a quiet words with your boss or personnel manager - which will hopefully lead to a better outcome in the short and long term for everyone concerned.

Like I say - i know exactly what you mean and how you felt - but as I’ve got older i’ve learnt to calm down a bit before I decide on what to do.

Try meditating - it does yield results (makes you calmer and more considered) if you stick with it.

Hope the situation at work sorts itself out ok.p.s. if I ever see him again in the future and the circumstances are favourable. . .

on reading this bit i thought you were talking about yourself lol… maybe its time as Crew Chief you started to deal with the bullying in the right way and use your position to go down the discipline route, use it against the bullys…but good on you …ooooh raaaahhh Master Chief:cool:

You were (and are) right but you need to deal with these situations in the right way. Taking a fist full of the notes looking at them, sending the bullied chap home and then taking the ring leader aside away from his cronies in an office and giving him a calm grilling may have been a lot more effective.

At least you are dealing with it though, many managers don’t have the balls to do anything and bulling can go on indefinitely.

Good on you!!! I think it’s great that there are still some bastions of moral virtue in this world and people are prepared to stand up for what they believe in.

It would be so easy to be a vacuous wage slave that stands back and compromises all their morals just to maintain the status quo within the workplace…there’s no place for diplomacy when it comes to bullying, no matter what the situation. It smacks of small **** syndrome that they picked on someone…and quite frankly you’ve demonstrated alot more strength by being true to yourself when you feel that strongly.

Don’t compromise on the passion that you have…not enough people have it…you had the moral highground…you just dealt with it a little more hot headedly than most people are comfortable with. :stuck_out_tongue: Besides…if you rock at your job then if they have any sense they’ll keep you (which clearly they have).

Good show for sticking up for the bloke!

I can’t abide the mentality of some people that feel the need to club together in stupid little gangs and pick on people they see as beneath them. It’s even worse when they try to pass it off a ‘just a joke mate!’

School - best years of your life - hehe, right.

If you cause someone to apprehend or fear that force is about to be used to cause some degree of personal contact and possible injury then you can be charged with common assault. Your intentions may be honourable but you should be careful how you go about expressing them in future.

Dont get mad, get even… no offence but you need to control your anger and be more political.

Feck me mate, cant be bothered to read the whole post, but I bet its work related once again :Whistling::slight_smile:

I dread to look out of the plane window upon landing and see you :stuck_out_tongue:

well back home now and today was kinda interesting…

i got into work and expected a huge cold shoulder from everyone but its was quite weird…everyone that passed me said ‘‘good afternoon’’…’‘hello mate’’…ect…ect…ect…

…i made myself a cuppa tea and and sat down to watch the start of the Motogp and people we’re being really overly nice….

so after about 20 mins…the guy i was having a row with last night asked me to meet him in the locker room and so i did…tbh…i was expecting a ''lets have it out behind ‘‘the bike shed’’…type thing but he appologised perfusley and in return…i said lets just leave it at that…and go back to normal…

…now…i dont walk about throwing my weight around and the only reason i got this promotion was because when upper management asked who should be a crew cheif…a good majority of them recomended me…im a fair bloke (i like to think) and treat everyone with the same respect as i expect too receive…i admit and say sorry if im in the wrong…and if im in the right i dont walk around gloating about it…i like to think im straight down the line… and the guys do know this…so…when i say lets leave it…it genrally means…you screwd up…lets not get into that kind of situation again…;).

so alls good and the kid who was getting it went sick today so he didnt see how things panned out…shame…i bet he thinks the whole world hates him now…what a surprise he’s gonna get…:D…lol…

now…got me Jack Daniles& coke here and im gonna go through the bottle tonight…cheers everyone…here’s to the future…:D.

smiled:).

Good it is it’s all sorted mate.

It’s great to see that things have ended up ok, I would have been gutted for you if you had ended up being disciplined over this (however I wouldn’t have been surprised if the management had made things formal) it could so easily have gone the wrong way and you could have ended up being punished for sticking up for someone.

Hopefully they will all think twice before doing this again when you’re around.

The sad thing is I come to realise every day that people no longer give a sh1t about anyone else… I still try and throw a good deed every day if I can, give someone a hand or anything as such… but I come to stop expecting anyone to do the same. When it happens I am usually in complete shock… it is like a miracle.

Many enjoy watching others in agony… or they don’t think of the consequences and how a silly joke can affect someone. I will try and stand up or give a hand if I can.

I see far too many acts on injustice on a daily basis, I think people are just meaner/cruel and they just don’t care. Or it could just be London… like someone said, London and the UK is small in size and is overpopulated. You stick lots of mice in a small area and they will become aggressive and shitty towards eatch other.
