i blummin love new tyres

i know we all want to see good mileage out of our tyres and i made my last 2ct rear last an impressive amount of time but damn the bike feels good with new shoes

finally got the 190/55 i’d been waiting for and it feels like a new bike. the bigger profile would have jacked the the bike an extra 10mm but will be at least the same again for the amount of rubber that was used up. the back feels a fair bit higher and the steering more precise

dont the love the scrubbing in danger period, but if i had more cash i’d change the rubber all the time.

That 190/55 certainly changes the handling for the better…Nice quick steering, but totally confidence inspiring when lent over…This is gonna be standard fitment for me from now on.

Doesn’t it run 55 profile as standard? I didn’t know that. I knew R1’s were just for looking good!

at least they do actually look good mate

190/50 is standard fitment on road bikes mate, including yours

55 is preferred on track. they’ve just started making the 190/55 on the 2ct

He doesn’t look at his bike to check these thing for a reason mate…

The R1s good looks are a safety aspect also…Makes you wanna actually look at the bike when you come back from a ride out and admire it and make sure everything is ok on it.

Gixxer…come home…in garage…bike cover on…close garage door…all ASAP…

I’m going to get 2cts when I replace mine. Where did you get them done, anywhere you’d recommend?

Essential Rubber seems to be the place…Check name and shame, but I ordered mine from m&p.

Unfortunately, only a rear was sent as they had run out of fronts

Might go to ER to supply the rear and fit both tyres.

I live quite near to FWR but they seem a little hit and miss. I’ve head a few good things about Essential Rubber.

Ive just got the 2CT,s from Essential Rubber and its like riding a different Bike !!

Quality !!

When going to FWR ask Bob for the tall slim brown hair guy to fit your tyres. Sorted mine out and was all good. Or if you live close you could always take you wheels off and then take them in and they fit them for free

i get mine done at SBK on Hessel St just off the commercial road in East London. very small outfit but Rhalf that owns it is a mate of mine, and they’re open all day sat and sunday

A minor point. How would fitting 190/55 jack anything up as the 55 on the size is a % of the width of the tyre . so that would equate to 55% of 190. I think. granted its more than a 50 profile but I wouldn’t stick millimeters on it .

because you’re not changing the rim size. it forms more of a v-shape

this shows it graphically:

doing the maths 190x50%=95 tyre wall height. 190x55%=104.5mm. Height diff being 9.5mm at the side wall. Dare say the tyre production isn’t accurate to 1/2 a mm tho
