A friend of mine initially regretting having children young. Recently a friend of ours died and she found that, being self employed and work being a little thin on the ground, her child was the only thing that kept her going and gave her a structure to her day. If she didnt have the child, she would have broken down.
I dont know if your daughter will be a single parent family, but they can be a source of massive strength and a very difficult bond to break. You never know, it might be the making of your daughter and she may shine in that role, giving her a sense of self that she never had before.
As to your becoming a grandad, I think youre gonna be great!
Congratulations fellah!
19 is young and may not be what you had planned for her – but every now and again life sends us these little swerve-balls – how you deal with them is more important than what they are.
I reckon just by the fact that you are worrying means you’ll deal with this just fine. (But actually being a grandad at 37 may take a little longer)! :D:D
Many congrats…just think that if it’s a boy, you’ll still be young enough to play football/rugby with him, plus also you’ll be able to teach him how to ride!
BEEN TOLD ITS GOING TO BE A GIRL.
Better sign her up for the LB netball team to ensure a place! ![]()
and…can still do all of the above, it’s allowed nowadays!
congrats man…shes willl still live life…i admire girls that have kids young, by that i mean 18-19 not 15!!
especially when they bring there kids up well and are good mothers to them, wich i’m sure your lass will do just that mate…BE PROUD!![]()
Congrats.
Mum had me when she was that age. I bet it was a right shocker for her at the time, and it meant she never went to Uni and didn’t have the extended period of dossing around and being carefree that I have had (for far too long, probably).
But she survived, and had a good life with a good job and has travelled all round the world and is happy and healthy.
19 would have been a perfectly normal age to have kids, just a generation or two ago. It just seems a little early nowadays because lots of people delay it. But then you end up in my position where you’re knocking on 40, thinking about having a kid, and realising that you’ll be geriatric before the kid’s an adult.
Congratulations and all the best! I’m sure having children at this age will work out well for her - she will have the time to decide what she wants to do with her life and be able to act on it when the child/children are a bit older and more independent.
I guess what is difficult (and totally normal!
) - is seeing someone who for most of their life has been your child, grow up and become a woman with a child of her own. This new situation will take some getting used to! But I am sure that your grandchild will be a source of immense joy for you and your family. Go out and have a drink with your friends and celebrate!
Congrats mate.
As long as the mum is happy about it and the baby is healthy there`s nothing to worry about it.
Congrats mate but by the way you cant talk lol you fertilazied the egg that made her at 18
congrates mate
Congratulations Paul.
I was 19 when I had my first, there’s nothing wrong with it as long as she’s got support by way of a caring partner or her family. It means that she will still be young enough to enjoy her life and get it back on track when her daughters old enough to go clubbing
That’s not to say her life will have to stand still either, there’s alot of options and childcare facilities for her to continue further education or work or just enjoying being a mum.
It’s one of those things, my kids are under strict instructions NOT to get pregnant but if it happens it happens I will still stand by them.
Haha time to start growing up Granddad
Congrats mate
Mozeltov!
I know your worried about her being to young…but hey whats done is done. Now you are just going to get used to the idea of being a doting absolutely googoo eyed grandad! The lil tyke will blow you away! My gf’s parents are always dropping hints but I have managed to delay them by introducing my son…and Paula’s (my gf) normally quiet grumpy dad fell for my son totally lol. Your lil girl will be ok. She will have all the chances to enjoy her life just in a different way. Oh…and just think…the first great female Moto GP racer mabe?
Better get another toilet installed where ever she’s gonna be living…Girls always need a pi$$.
Other than that, congrats mate. ![]()
Congratulations. Grandchildren are fun. When exhausted, you get to give them back. I fell a few times riding my Honda 125 down to Tierra del Fuego and back to New York this year. My grandchild (2.5) calls me Gran’pa Oops!
I am 75. So you can look forward to falling for a good many years and being a Great Great Grand’pa Oops! Unless you give up riding which would be a serious mistake and a sign that you are getting old…
Cheers.
Congratulations Grandpa;)
SNAP, And i am not impressed for the same reason as you.
