Husqvarna TR650 Strada a good city commuter?

Saw the TR650 Strada at the NEC show on Saturday.

It’s reasonably lightweight, (why are modern bikes so heavy?),
and looks like it would make good commuter and/or first ride.

Any opinions?

Never sat on one but I’ve commuted a few times on my 690 enduro r and that’s a laugh. You get a good view of the road and the engine is punchy to over take anyone dawdling. I also get good mpg.
If you were riding a few miles on your comute I’d maybe get a good extended test ride to make sure it’s not too vibey or seat uncomfortable. Though seats change changed.

Got to be better than an MZ 660 Baghira as it’s not so likely not to fall apart on the way to work.

Apart from the putting back together every couple of journeys, I just loved the SM as a commute bike. Good view, good punchy acceleration, good brakes for those “oh, sh*t” moments. What’s not to like?

Oh yes. The saddle. No worries, after market gel pad. A few quid well spent.

Do give it a decent test ride though. You might just hate it.
