hate to be a party pooper but them early huskies are terrible, the engines detonate and cost loads to fix, i repair them all week… the later ones are far far better…
After poking around on other forums, sites and speaking to a few people I’m aware on a potential cam chain tensioner issue… but quite happy otherwise… There is a Husky dealer/service in South Harrow so shall have the cam chain bits done as soon as possible anyway…
lol the ones i fix mainly have bottom end issues as husky use cheap bearings made of fudge, heads crack, rods snap the list is endless buddy, just my opinion of course though;)
mate you no what im like i fix the things all day and no most motos through and through, the early huskies are terrible bikes, always have been!! even husky dealers say there **** bikes… it looks well clean but i wouldnt own one after repairing them.
nothing like a challenge… still… i did own a RD250 18 years ago so i know what a bike looks like when it’s in bits in the kitchen…
I will prob get bored with it anyway… It’s only going to be a toy for the rest of this summer then i shall prob sell the husky and my 55’ CBF next april to buy something new anyway…
been doing some homework… i’m not that bothered… there are stories of them being fine, stories of head gasket leaks, cam woes… rod woes… in fact just like any other bike if you start really researching…
guy that I work with… got a 07’ BMW GS… Had nothing but trouble, breakdowns, clogged pipes, oil leaks, rattles, electrics…
So I’m going to take my chance… Always fancied something a little different… should be a talking point…
hey aint being a dik just dont want a novice moto buyer to get into something he will regret is all dhofty you bummer:P motos go wrong when not looked after mate, huskys just go pop regardless, stators shere off too;) electrics are fun aswell;) at least you know what your buying but if you want to research a bike properly speak to supermoto riders who race or repair them and youl get a no bull**** answer mate. i tell it how it is fella, my mates got an early 610 and tells everyone its a craxcking bike etc etc and forgets to say how many times its been rebuilt hahahahah… lastly why are you swapping a fazer for a lesser value husky anyhow??? oh dofty you out to play next weekend?
the fazer is surplus to requirements… there is a little price adjustment in the deal… and… Iv’e got a Honda 55’ Honda CBF550 to use as my commuter/wet weather motorway bike…
Thanks for the advice on the bike… I just fancied something different… One good thing tho… if/when??? it does go pear shaped i know where to come to… And then you can have the pleasure of saying “i told you so”
lol as sh** as they are i have one:hehe: albeit a newer type but even that brakes all the time, lol… if you get the supermoto bug then youl prolly end up with a ktm, a great mix of reliability and parts are cheap and they shift too… either ways when you get it learn to wheelie properly not like dhoftys bunny hops
i’d best just keep it for riding down the pub on a sunny evening… making a load of racket, stoppie it in the car park… Then, have a shandy and ride it back home looking cool… that’ll be less than a mile a week on it then… should be pretty reliable for that purpose… lol
if you do a mile a week it should be ok for at least a month. it looks clean though and i think judging by the tyres the furthest its been over is on the sidestand:w00t:, lol dhofty below was the day i managed to get the bottle to change gear wheelies, just went for it, not bad for a learner hey, that was a year ago. me on the 2 stroker:D
