How to tow a bike...

That’s innovative

Experimental, Nice

Nothing as reliable as a honda…

I like that!

is it legal?

I went to Brighton on the back of a friends bike a few years ago and the bike broke down in Hastings on the way back. It was the middle of the night, my mate was Spanish and didn’t a have a clue about any recovery, so I called my dad, who drove From Ashford in Kent to Hastings to rescue us. We took the screen off and managed to tie a toe-rope to the yoke and with the back hatch of the car open, we toed the bike back to Ashford!!! That was crazy, but it worked…

Ouch, those poor fork legs.

I used to tie one end of a rope to the car’s tow bar, and the other end to a screw driver/spanner to create a handle that I held in my hand (arm acts like a shock absorber). The car driver had to pull away carefully, but once upto speed, it worked pretty well. Wouldn’t recommend on motorways, or long journeys though. Oh, and be careful not to run over the slack rope when the car slows down… esp in traffic!
