Be careful in your selection, do not choose one to old or to young.Take only such varieties as have been raised in a good moral atmosphere.When one has been decided upon let that be forever settled and give your entire time and thought to domestic use.
Some insist in keeping them in pickle while others are continually keeping them in hot water.But even poor varieties may be kept sweet,tender and good by simply garnishing with patience.Sweeten with smiles and flavour with kisses to taste.
Wrap well in a mantle of clarity and keep warm with a steady flow of domestic devotion.Serve with peaches and cream.When this prepared they will keep well for years.
I’d like to add one small suggestion: Frequent exposure to cold temperatures
has been known to damage this dish permanently. Keep a small and steady flame
going at all times.
Cutting them up and putting them in the freezer is a good one to try, but only if your freezer goes to -30deg (most domestic ones don’t, so don’t try this at home folks )
