How many numpties have you seen riding bikes in shorts & t-shirts??

just saw a guy on a GSXR go through fulham with shorts, trainers, and helmet…what a mess he’ll make at least the ugly tattoo on his back would get removed at the same time.

f-me you lot are self-richeous about this. his or her risk if they do it, not yours. chill out

The last couple of days i have been riding in a t-shirt, You can never mitigate against all risk but when in less than full gear i modify my riding accordingly, no hooning, just nice gentle bimbling along enjoying the weather, rather than decked out in full leathers gettings frustrated and overheated, perhaps going for ropey overtakes/filtering to get the air moving…

Darrylj i dont know you so i wont type my first reaction to reading your post, but do you make it a habit of reporting other bikers to the police?

fair enough he wasent insured/licenced, but surely you were not to know that at the time. With the amount of CCTV/GATSO’s and infringements on our freedoms in this country do us bikers really need to be grassing each other up?

he IS a copper mate

LOL, Cheers johnny, err ignore what i said darryl, nothing to see here, move along… :Whistling:

For the record i agree with you, i think when we loose the freedom of choice of what gear to wear it will be a sad day.

it tis up to teh individual, i have seen first hand what teh results of an off in a t-shirt are like.

see teh thread ‘SUNS OUT AND SO ARE THE IDIOTS’ you’ll see what i mean…

Personally I ram every rider I see wearing tshirt and shorts and if that isn’t enough for them I get a handful of gravel and rub it vigorously into their forearms for 10 minutes. And by rider I mean woman. And by gravel I mean baby oil. And by forearms I mean breasts.

Can i come along and assist on your next outing???

A good textile jacket is like wearing a t-shirt. No compromise there then. We recently reviewed the REV’IT! Typhoon jacket and it came out tops. Riding on hot days like this, it’s just a dream come true.

Too many!!!

SO MANY THAT I HAVE LOST COUNT

Saw 2 guys doing well over 100 mph along the M25 in jeans, trainers, vest, no gloves. Twats.

Very shorditch looking dude on a Vespa in linnen shorts, sandals and t-shirt, casually undertaking busses at speed, filtering through moving traffic and going through a red light on the Old Kent Road this morning.

Felt a bit sorry.

DEFINITELY needed an injection of humour here…

Nice

:D:D:D

:)lol yeah nice calmer! anyway i ride in my gear when im doing any stretch over 40 mile an hour on an open road. Its summer and hell i spend all day baking in met vest and trousers, so last thing i want is a full leather outfit lol! jeans n teeshirt n leather jacket. and in south africa where its just a wee lil bit warmer than here YEAR ROUND i wear the same, jeans and leather jacket. its your choice, you take the risk and wear what u like. iv got the scars, the burn and the dodgy back (29 years young) and my skin all grew back. if someone hits me at the lights, road rash is probably the last thing im gonna be worried about, n no leather racing suit stops ur bones breaking, just keeps em all nice n tidy. so if u wana wear ur protection, go for it if not dont

I dont like the naked look to much, Its the fly’s what annoy me!!

I wear a bizarre MASSIVE pair of textile trousers with braces that almost come up to my shoulders, and a leather jacket, to commute to and from work (its 3 hours a day across central london; one side to the other). On the other hand, a little journey to the shops, or to the gym, or even into central London if its for pleasure, and jeans, boots, gloves and a t-shirt is OK. Don’t think I’d ever wear shorts; at least jeans give me a LITTLE bit of protection and the gloves and boots will help. I accept its a risk but I still think my commute ride is more dangerous; I’m hot, either tired from getting up or annoyed from work, the traffic’s terrible etc etc. I make a rule of wearing full kit for my commute, but don’t bother otherwise. This is London afterall; you never go more than 30-40 and I’m just more careful. Unless I’m in full kit I never try to cut corners, such as doing jumps off the end of empty car transporters’ trailers.

the ONLY time to do such stunts is when only wearing shorts and a vest.

You haven’t lived until you feel the air around your dangly bits…

apparently

Forgot to mention; I reckon its a bit self-righteous to criticise people for taking personal risks. Have any of you ever had a beer or smoked (its bad for you you know!)? Ever eaten lots of cheese? Ever had less than 6 hours sleep then jumped on the bike? Ever done more than the speed limit?!?!?!

I’m sure you’ve all done most or all of these things. Nobody called you a knob or started a thread about what an idiot you were.
