So I’m waiting in the middle of the road to turn right, about eighty second’s ride away from my house, with a black MG in front of me also waiting to turn, but we can’t go anywhere yet because of the traffic.
Further away, up the road we’re waiting to turn into, is coming a nondescript turquoise hatchback. There’s a gap in the traffic and the MG moves out, and stalls, blocking the road. Theres a keep-left bollard at the edge of the side road, forcing me to go right around the car and squeeze left past the bollard.
As I’m squeezing between the MG and the bollard I notice the driver is an ex-girlfriend from some years back, and as if on queue I’m almost mown down the turquoise Focus which has just reached the junction - driven by my dad!
I got the bike through the gap and took off, while Amanda gave me a blank look and my dad hooted (bless him!) enthusiastically. Only in Cheam…
You should try Bridgewater in Somerset, mate. Statistically proven!?!?!?!?!?! Mate of mine is a teacher there and the schools get additional funding because they are all happily “keeping it in the family” :w00t:It’s like a scene out of Deliverance oooeeerr Red hair and buck teeth
In the sense that we had a relationship, yes. Was that relationship genetic? This isn’t New Malden, yerknow! (Mind you, as a rule you have to take whatever you can get, down here…)
I lived in Cheam for a while once, Park road I think - Cheam - famous for one of the first flame grilled burger places, which was actually real good and still there now after about 30 years!
Had a really crap nightclub too - think it ended up being called Clueseaus?
There were always a few dodgy geezers in the flats, apart from that it was all good.
Never noticed any inbreds - they must have moved in later!
Happy daze - had an RD250 and a tuned Mark 1 Cortina!
