How high is your sports bike?

I’m in a position to change the seat height of my GSXR by way of brackets that I’ll be using to support the new sub frame I’m putting on it. As it was, I could easily flat foot on both sides which gave me a little more confidence especially as it is a bit of a heavy beast.

Although I could go on tip toes for a better streetfighter look.

I’m just interested in finding out what height your seat is at, how tall you are and what difference you think it makes to your riding abilities.

It’s not just a matter of height, the width of the seat plays an important factor too, the wider it is the more angled out your legs will be when putting your feet down & hence further from the deck.

Good point.
The R6 seat is certainly wider than the GSXR WN seat.

What about your bike then? tip toes or flat foot and why?

Is this any help? Motorcycle ergonomics

Fireblade. Flat feet (both)

V4: left flat, right on peg. ball of feet when moving.

KTM: left flat, right peg.

Never really botehred me at all.

zx9, flat feet, knees bent. comfy.

cool.
I might have to do the ‘one flat, one up’ on the fighter.

Thanks, but I’m modding a GSXR 750 with an R6 subframe (build thread in the fighter’s corner forum), so I’m not sure this would be up to it.
Cheers though.

Any more ideas on this?

Feet flat on all mine, but Im quite tall so not sure how that helps you amigo !

garret, if your keeping original front end etc and was ok with the ride and comfort of the bike b4 i would somewhat try to keep the same height etc of new seat as old as best you can.

remember if you raise seat then more weight on the front which should make for quick or twitchy turning etc.

if poss i always preferred keeping rear bodywork in line with top of tank, have look on oss and there is some discussion about it, more for asthetics though i suppose but some like arse in the air look too, not me though, lol

Thanks John,
That was something I was considering - how much the geometry and ride of the bike would be changed by the new sub. Hmm.

But, I’m with you on the aesthetics thing - in line with the tank was basically what I am after.

Nice one.
