Anyone seen this?, I didnt think it was allowed?
ouch !!!
kinda depends what he was being followed for…could have killed a bunch of people in a bank and then ran never know these days
seems harsh but the cop could have made it worse, at least he didnt make it a full head on…
the problem in the US is that there are so many guns they can take no risks…and I for one dont blame them…nothing the police do stops the criminals, nothing the courts do stops the criminals…if I was a US cop my life would always come first…and thankfully in the US the public support the police (to a degree) unlike in the UK…
Speaking as someone who was chased down by three policemen when I’d done nothing wrong, and they told me they were actually looking for someone else, I hope it wasn’t another biker they should have stopped.
Spanish police too:
Saves calling out 5 cars, a helicopter & a film crew tho like they do in this country!
No messing.
i got pulled in Texas for doing 110mph in rush hour (7:30am) in a Jag. cop was very nice indeed gave me 90 in a 70 so i could just do a defensive driving course:D
Not knowing the full facts, I think I would use the footage and get a good lawyer and go for attempted murder against the cop.
if it was the other way round the police would have had him for attempted murder of a police officer and assult with a deadly weapon
Defo the wrong way to stop a biker but the biker should have done wrong.
I assume that he knew he was being chased? Even an unmarked car would be fitted with blues (and reds over there!
) and twos, the sirens and flashing lights are what I find a good give away!
Did I hear our hero say he was running cause he was carrying Marijuana?
Chased down makes it sound like you were failing to stop?
I think that by the time I try to outrun plod, I can expect to be taken down hard. IMHO there’s a difference between outrunning and getting away. Getting away I’d try, if that means nipping though some where that a car wont fit or nipping through the traffic. Outrunning plod someone is gonna get hurt and as fast as I have seen folk ride/drive, I have never seen anyone outrun a Plod radio!
So if you trying to out run’em, that bike almost certainly aint registered to you (inc no insurance etc) so you if you dont expect to be taken down hard by plod, you a ninney!
Edit:
All the same tho, its a terrible way to be stopped!![]()
Different country, different laws / rules etc.
Only one person caused this … the biker.
Oh, and it could happen in this country and it has, but there would have to be a very high (life threatening) immediate threat from the person on the bike for this course of action to be justifiable within our laws.
sickening police!
Although it is a sickening way to get taken down by a police car, it actually looks like it wasn’t totally intended. If you watch the oncoming police car, it actually fish-tails right, left then right again, before hitting the bike. Looks to me like the driver of the police car wasn’t in total control of his vehicle.
Even so, it was still a harsh way to treat the guy after he’d been flipped through the air. You could understand making sure he was on the ground, searching him etc… But to put him in cuffs, sit him up and then start pushing his head this way and that! What were they thinking? Surely they understand how to treat for possible neck injuries!!! :w00t:
Anyway, it’s easy to tear it apart from my armchair, but we have no idea what the whole story was. And, like was mentioned before, the bike rider is at fault for not stopping in the first place!
I thought the plod car had come to a halt and the bike hit the car? But the issue, I guess, being made is the fact that the risk of blocking the riders path could have resulted in his death?
With regard pulling his helmet about I also assumed that plod were trying to remove his lid? That way they can identify him before doing-a-Rodney-King on-his-a$$!

is it such a surprise that the rider tried to run away from the police like that?
You only have to watch some of the american cop shows to understand. How often do you get a gang rampaging through the streets of london in a stolen van shooting at the police with automatic rifles? How often do you get a meth addict ramming a police car and then trying to shoot the police officer? How often do you get a police officer approaching a car that has been stopped and then getting shot at point blank range?
These things thankfully do not happen over here, but they happen all the time in the States. If the biker had stopped then this wouldn’t have happened.
You must have seen the clip the other day of the two swedish sisters, the police struggled to control them, imagine a meth or crack addict in a stolen vehicle running a mock through London with a loaded gun, then you can begin to understand the heavy handedness of the police.
I do not condone it but I can understand it to a certain extent. One dead or badly injured scumbag or half a dozen dead or injured innocent bystanders.
Bit like when you’re walking down the street and someone’s coming the other way, so you move to avoid a collision, then they move the same way, and you end up having the embarrassing ‘you dancing?’ scenario !!!
not sure if true but comments on you tube said he had stolen the bike and had ten more at home
Got what he deserved but i do hope the cops had no doubt whatsoever that he was guilty
Scary but if this was how they stopped Stolen bikes in England i think we may have a few less bike thiefs
