Im both surprised and a bit peed off that you have reacted in this way after putting a logical explanation to the reasons why you feel as you do, as im sure you are right, no matter where they are from, other couriers must feel the same as their wages have been affected to?

The fact that gixxergooner reacted was something he is entitled to, just the same as you are entitled to your reasons to the way you feel? BUT my point is, why then do YOU react back in such a threatening way? (not that i think gixxergooner is bothered by what you wrote in the least, but thats neither here nor there)?

It seems that you post something, have your say, get a reaction, and then start threatening the person who reacted…what if, HE busts YOUR ass, when next you meet? Wont that make you kinda look stooopid? (not that im suggesting that will happen, cos as i said, he prob dont give a ****e)…

Sorry there, I am many things but I am not a hypocrite, and I call a spade a spade. If somebody wants to sling insults at me, they should be prepared for the reaction.

I respect this community, seeing what it’s done for me, and I’m glad to be part of it, but the random pr1cks and cheap shot insults that crop up sometimes are hard to deal with. Guess you have to take the good with the bad. The good people on this forum (who know who they are) know I’m no bigot racist White Power asshole, but at the same time I make my opinion heard.

i understand the frustration of not being able to earn a living doing what you want to do because of being undercut in wages but at least you have the prospect of a job… more than we can say for a load of other people.

I did think about not responding as your posts only serve to make a point in addition to the one I originally made.

However I am nothing if not opinionated so here’s my view

  1. Many of the same accusations you level at other couriers (wherever they originate from - you just happen to focus on Polish and Brazilians in many of your posts for some reason), could also be applied to your time in Norway.

They are trying to make a living and find work wherever that may be. Sometimes it is very hard if you don’t speak the language. Did you learn Norwegian in the end???

  1. Perhaps the term Internet begging was ill-chosen but I’m not aware of the term that applies to posting hard luck stories on a community full of caring people like this. What did you think would be the response to those posts - everyone just saying hard cheese get on with it? Of course not people help out, rather like they helped the guy on my tube train last night who told a sad story of how his life had hit the rocks and collected some money of commuters…

  2. I hope you don’t take the same attitude to your new job, especially if you end up working alongside contractors from India or similar. These guys are extremely clever and paid crap by some of the firms engaged in this kind of work.

  3. You make a lot about being a courier. Couriering is a valuable job in hard conditions. However it is, like any other, subject to the vagaries of supply and demand. In all things this is what determines market price and if you want to ensure continuing high wages then do something less people can do - Neurosurgeon etc. As to whether it makes you a better rider than people on this site (the fair weather and commuters you disparaged), depends on your mindset. Being a biker is not just a job, it is a state of mind IMO.

I think that this sums up my view on this. Take it or leave I care not. With regards to your comments about ‘piss-headed losers’ liking football (one of the biggest sports globally) and my riding abilities (Just gone for ACU license thanks) the less said the better.

As for giving me a slap. I for one left school many years ago. If you still want to then I will come to a BMM especially and you can look for the 6’4" 190lbs fella getting off a Black K7 750 with Black and White Shoei lid. I absolutely guarantee you it would go the way you described…

I’m not racist, I’m just not happy with hundreds and hundreds of people coming into my profession, all from one country, refusing to speak English, and driving down the prices.

How much money do you make? Lets whatever job you do all of a sudden somebody does it for half the money. So divide that by 50%, for the same amount of work. Can you still afford the things you need to pay for? Didn’t think so. How do you feel about the people who came and muscled in on your turf? Gonna go for beers with them? Didn’t think so.

Now, I’m no Daily Mail reader (I’m more Independent and Guardian) but I do think that immigration needs to be regulated and consider the needs of the people already in the damn country. Also people breaking the law (ie. working illegally) should be removed, otherwise it’s not fair to those making sure they are legal (visa status, licence, tax, mot, insurance, etc.)

I refused your “generous offer” because:

a) you coming to Norway to “escort” me back to the UK wasn’t necessary and
b) I didn’t want to go in debt to you for your “expenses”

Basically, you wanted a free ride-out to Norway (and back) that I would have to
“pay you back for later” and I told you it’s a non-starter. That doesn’t give you the
right to complain, and it doesn’t make me a rip-off artist either. It just makes me
wise enough to know a scam when I see one. The fact you tried to prey on me while I
was in a desperate situation just makes it more detestable. I didn’t want to throw
that in your face at the time, but I knew the deal and I simply said “not interested”.

Ha Ha … Any one that Knows me will know that it was a genuine offer to get you out of a tight spot.

I knew there was something dodgy about you . The reason I said that in some time in the future you could repay me was because I knew you were taking the rest of the comunity for a ride.

The first mention of repaying the money you were off the idea…

As far as holidays go I went to New Zealand twice last year as well as Mexico for New year and to Portugal for 2 weeks and to devon far a week and to Cornwall far a week.

The last thing I need is to be picking up some looser from wherever you report from being stuck at!!
