Honda CBR600RR

What do we reckon, is a 600rr more likely to get stolen from a parking space in Westminster than a 600f???

Does anyone here commute in on a CBR600RR?

I would think it’s a more desirable bike so therefore more likely to get stolen.

I don’t reckon there’s much in it really. If someone’s gonna nick it they will. I commute and park an RR in Westminster in an overcrowded bay and it’s ‘safe’ enough - alarm, immobiliser and disc lock. Can’t really do more than that as there’s nothing to lock it to. There’s loads of CCTV also.

It’s a lot more desireable imo.

RR is a sportsbike, through and through.

CBR600F is your common commuter/sports tourer really.

Decisions decisions eh!

i had an 00 cbr f and it was a easy bike to commute with. the 07 RR was a pain in the ass to commute on for me as you had to ring it’s neck to have any fun.

Yeah, I think the CBR600f is great to be honest, my girlfriend is trying to nick mine.

If we both have one are we going to be a bit like Howard and Hilda???

def go with the CBR600f… oh did you know im selling one!!!

Just about to show Ali-cat the photos of yours again.

Yeah the CBR600RR will go walkies with time, HOWEVER! My IMMACULATE suzuki bandit 1200 with 4000m, fully serviced and alarmed wont so go for that… Hint hint

that’s a point my RR went for a walk at 3am once came back mind…the 00 CBR F never went away thouth the year i had it and the 3 years before that my brother had it.

what is the benefit of having alarm and immobiliser ?

mates R1 got stolen in front of the shop 3pm and they managed to disable both as it was riden away…

yes…

If you want to ride a sportsbike and park it somewhere dodgy, go with an older model, and never wash it… hell, spray the whole thing matt black and rat it out. It doesn’t mean that just because it’s ugly it isn’t fast  and nobody is going to touch it.

Shiny Fireblade just sounds like trouble to me… it’ll get tossed into a van before long.

Id argue alarm/immobiliser does serve a purpose… Deterrant.

Plus makes it more noticeable when someone starts tinkering with it… means someone might see the little fckers at least…

Don’t split hairs between two sports-bikes as far as theft is concerned. Here’s the brutal truth: any bike less than ten years old that isn’t properly secured is a big fat target for thieves. Bikes get stolen for parts or sale abroad, they don’t get stolen because one bike is slightly more desirable to a buyer than another.

Chain it up, keep it out of view.

Why is this in the for sale section?
