if night camera outside has sufficient light around (like a bright 500W PIR light), and the camera is positioned a little above nearby, is there really a need still for the camera to be IR (infra red) ?.
would the bright light interfere with the IR picture?.

if the camera is in IR mode then the ambiant light from the 500w light possitioned below and to the side of it it would interfere, IR works on low ambiant light so if you increase the amount of light you will get a somewhat cloudy picture.
if the camera and light are activated on PIR then you could take it out of IR mode as 500w should be enough to offer a clear picture of anything moving towards it.
