Hit by a Pigeon!

Probably the most bizarre ride in I’ve yet had.

Doing 45ish in North Finchley when a suicidal pigeon drifts across my path and ‘insert wet thump noise’ hits my windscreen and bounces in to me - lots of feathers all over the place - as I’m breaking it flys/wobbles off.

Rode the rest of the way in with feathers sticking out of the edge of windscreen. Got a few odd looks for some reason?

They say getting hit by bird poo is lucky - does that mean getting hit by the whole bird mean I’m in for a lottery win?

well I was on the motorway a while back doing quite a bit of speed, Merc in front of me hits this bird that bounces off and goes up in the air then straight towards me… it is really stupid that at that moment I closed my eyes… like that was going to do me any good… missed me… can’t say by how much since I had my eyes closed… again… stupid since even if it hit me in the helmet I had my visor down so eyes closed no good.

My mate got hit by a pheasant while riding and smashed his front fairing.

I almost hit a deer today on the A272.

I thought those deers on the warning signs were mythological.

It was around a blind bend aswell…Good thing I can’t didn’t get my knee on the deck. :laugh:

I got hit by a deer and it made a right mess of the whole of oneside of my car.

Now I’ve had time to inspect the bike and the bird shaped splat - I’m changing my story - it wasn’t a pidgeon it must have been a ruddy great eagle or a small flying donkey:D Kept one of the feathers which I might stick to my lid as a trophy:D

It’s nice to know karma works - there was a little bit of smudged bird poo in the splat - so it looks like it sh*t itself just before impact:w00t:
