I managed to get along to Epping Forest, High Beach, the other Sunday to stop for tea and admire all the bikes. Just wondered if anyone else here happens to frequent this jolly.
It’s just in a layby as you go up from the Robin Hood Inn towards High Beach.
Used to do a bit of mountain biking round there, but only recently been on motorbike, but it hasn’t changed in all the years I’ve been past their previously. Basic car park, few benches, tea hut selling super stewed tea and rammed with bikers!
The Robin Hood Inn, 2 seconds down road used to be decent though, used to have a top notch Thai restaurant at back. Presume, it’s still there…
Been there many times… quite a beautiful area I must say, I find it very relaxing!
Coffee isn’t that great but the food is alright, quite homemade…
And, just so you know, there’s a remarkable elderly attendence :hehe:
Tea and Manor house cake at High Beech is the way forward. Was there today. Its not all old buggers apart from some of the regulars. On a busy day you will get all ages and different bikes. Good starting point for a ride out in to Essex:D
