Hibernating my baby

If my gixxer K4 600 is going to be parked up for the next 8 weeks is there anything I should do, like remove the petrol etc??

(She’s indoors)

tell your dad she is in the room with you maybe??

Good advice, gixxer’s store well, I had my previous 750 unused for about the same amount of time, I just went out and started it for 20 minutes every week (had standard can fitted) to keep everything lubricated and the battery topped up.

It’ll be much more fun to see how long until his parents find out. Perhaps we should start taking bets…

Brilliant idea! who’s on???

ures is a k4, so there are no carbs as its fuel injection…id just get an oximiser off ebay 20 quid and pos start her up every time u need a moral boost!

AbbeyJ : Are you nuts, he has not been in the garage in a week or so and im guessing he thinks its in there still, if I can keep her in my room long enough I can use the its been in there two weeks and never bothered you line and if that don’t work I nearly died for that bike should

Thanutz: I started her up for less than a minute, man the house smelt of petrol but it was worth it, I had to air the house out for about an hour

I don’t know what an Oximiser is or where my fuel tap is or how to turn it off and run her dry but ill find out before the end of the night, I need chain lube but what else should be lubed up

And my mum knows but she does not live with me it my old man who will bitch like a woman.

ok - so who will take bets on when Da Artist’s dad finds out??

DA, no need to worry about chain lube, a house is a great environment for a bike, no moisture to rust it! It’ll be fine without running, but do run an Optimate, which is what people are talking about here, it’s a battery charger/monitor. It’ll detect the charge and top it up bit by bit to keep it healthy and never over-charge it. Especially useful if there’s an alarm/imobilser fitted.

Many shops have them as well. Might be worth PM’ing BabyJ about it and see if his stocks one.

Thanks all more toys to buy for me.

Shouldn’t need to do any thing but give it a good coat of lookin at.

Put mine in the garage in november and forgot about it. Put the key in last week n she fired up the first push of the button. Job well done.

Okay people at 2pm this afternoon my dad found the gixxer (was my sisters fault) all he had to say was “you put the bike in your room hmm” nothing more like it was normal

So I told him it had been in there over a week everyone knew but him and people had even placed bets on it he laughed, I then said what if I had gone on holiday for two weeks the bike could have been stolen all this time and you would not have known, the was a small silence and then he replied I knew you had moved it I just didn’t know where… Yeah right!

Who won the bet?

Hah, nice one DA. Props to your dad for letting it slide
