Virtual card put behind virtual bar (but only if they serve decent beer).
Added my 2p worth on a couple of posts so thought it time I stuck my head up.
Now do I duck back down, lay low, or blow my own trumpet
Ok where’s that trumpet.
Bit about me, well been riding just over thirty years now ( and got the scars to prove it) and still enjoy it, done some club racing a long time ago and some scrambling, owned most types of bike (although never a crusier) done the race rep thing back in the late 80’s, ROSPA gold about 10 years ago, done the police rider training (no I’m not a copper), currently it’s big nakeds for the pasted 10 years or so mostly.
Suffice to say I know one end of a spanner from the other, good enough with a welding torch or spray gun, been poor enough to have had to do all the maintenance on the bike at one time or another. Have been known to make the odd bit for some of the old timers machines (circa 1904-14) at a friends workshop.
enjoy watching the bike racing, be it at the track or on the box, go over for some of the European rounds, loved the TT until they stiched us up with that " bike fest" (when they had the foot & mouth thing) and wouldn’t give refunds.:
Used to be a distance runner, until I done in both knees, Padi assistent instructor (but haven’t dived for about 8 years now), done hang gliding, archery and rock climbing as hobbies ( I’m a bit old for all that now though).
Live in south London, but originally for north of the water.
puts trumpet away.
Welcome Sutcir from the look of your CV it looks like you’ve done it all, now you can add being an LB member
…Drinks on you yeah JD and coke please
and errr Poke…Poke and POKE
hiya and welcome to LB…
I see DA has already poked you with the newbie stick… and we all missed it…
what are you currently riding then?
Hi Abbey, just replied to your Hornet thread.
Yes, it’s all to rare these days for me to be a newbie (it has a certain nostalgic feel I kind of like).
As to what I ride, well I’m fortunate to have a choice, just finished mechanically rebuilding my K2 svs, or the MT500, or indeed the CB750, alas the GSXR(89) is never going to move again, but that still leaves the BSA A65 (lighting) for the odd trip in the nice weather.
But the work horse is the S3, big, red (at the moment), naked and can alway do with a wash
shorter stature
- much better than being called gimli - but yes i have a height issue…
at the moment even with the seat cut i am on toes in my sidis (which are really flat) … but the bike is new and will settle…so have opted not to use the lowering kit… as a concession though am gonna have to wear slightly higher heeled boots
as for washing your s3 - it was raining yesterday - you should have gone for a ride… personally i luv muc off - especially the polishing cloth you get with their kit - works wonders on my little cbr…
Hey Sutcir, welcome to LB! That’s an impressive CV you’ve got there! No doubt your experience and wisdom will prove beneficial to the community, as it already has I see. You list an impressive collection of bikes! I’m most interested in the BSA, I like the classics, though have never ridden one myself.
Hope you can post up some pictures of them in the Pictures & Video forum when you get time, and hope to see you down at the Cubana/Waterloo Wednesday evening meet some time!
Thanks for the warm welcome.
I’ve added some bike pics in that section.
you may have seen the bike at Soho most Fridays for the last couple of years, the SV before that.
and may see it on a Wednesday if you’re really unlucky
Cheers.
You know, I do believe I’ve seen the SV down Soho before now, the custom paint-scheme is ringing bells! Love this community!
indeed, my bikes do tend to be a bit different, the SV was there last time about 18 months back or so.
Been going to Soho on Fridays for about 5 years now, the odd trip to the Ace and Bridge to.
Welcome aboard what part of south are you living in.
SE25. or Selhurst/south Norwood if you prefer.
Welcome to another South London bod!
ah, another sv650.org member successfully infiltrates the ranks!
nice to see you over here
Yeah, but originally from Edmonton green
not so much infiltration, more shouts at the top of his voice
Full of useful stuff here, well at least I now know what you do for a living Ness.
