Well heelllloooooo…
Welcome… you go girl… Its a drag learning and having plates but its worth it in the long run… and L plates or no L plates a Pillion Babe in leathers can only be a good thing!
Take it easy and keep us up to date on how the lessons go!

Welcome!
Have you booked your test then? When is the bike arriving?! And what are you getting?

njs71 is bang-on, when you pass, you won’t believe how good it feels to have your freedom on two wheels! Good luck, and welcome aboard!

Hello and welcome. The greatest feelign ever when you pass yoru test it really is. What biek are you thinking of getting? A lot of us are always down the ace kicking tyres talking rubbish

wow that was a nice big hello!!! cheers everyone, doing test at the end of this month not sure what to get like the gixxers though. my brother is a bike instructor he taught me how to ride bikes, hes into kawasaki, he rides one and hes also got a duccati. asked him if i cud have a go on that and he said no lol hey nevermind. ive ridden round a roundabout on an R1 was great but i think id kill myself on that if i got one hehe, want something nice and easy to begin with and then i`ll move up xxxthx again for the welcome guys xx

It’s always best to start small then work your way up. However, I am biased as I have been ridding since the age of 3 and over teh years have built up to big bikes very slowly.

Are you doing direct access?

yes direct access for me only way to do it i reckon. wish me luck xxx

Go for it good luck!

Sounds like you’ve got the pick of the lot if you can fit on an R1, pillion babe, though for sure, like has already been said here, it’s best to start on something smaller that you can develop your confidence on, and move up as you feel. For me, it was a 400 when I started, but nowadays it’ll be 600’s I guess, there’s some cracking 600’s out there.

The GSXR K4 600 would be my choice, but I’m biased, being a Suzuki fan. The SV650 is another option, being a thumper, or the Triumph 600’s, which are supposed to be very user-friendly, so ideal for a new rider. Whatever you end up with, you’ll love it to bits, and will be so glad you joined the two-wheels community properly!

Damn it!! I’m the only one that sounded like a perv!! Doh…

Man… they never had direct access over here… sounds like the best way to start if your serious.

yeah ive been lucky jay as i said b4 my bro is well into bikes he has taught me alot, was thinking of a gsxr 600 need something that my hubby can ride also he has his license too but had an accident and a bit nervous about getting back on he said hed ride mine if i got one bless him, think a 600 will do the both us what do u think?

I’d go for the k4 600, but i supose it depends on insurance, the sv is a good bike for the money, and i should imagine the insurance is fairly good as well.
I had 3 years on a cruiser befor my insurance came down enough for me to get my gixxer k4 1000, now there ain’t no going back

wow!!! what a great pic love it hun. oh yes i think i cud see myself on one of those lol not yet though hehe

Insurance will also be a big factor as well, I forgot to mention! It’s really bad right now, premiums wise. Ring around and see what you get for those options PB. Your hubby will ride whatever you get, guaranteed, so don’t worry about him, buy for you!

Love your avatar as well!

steady jay, you don’t want to sound like that perv Floyd !!! LOL

I agree though nice avitar… oh no now i’m a perv…doh !

cheers hunglad u like i do a bit of modelling on the side brings in the cash doesnt it lol. im a midwife too still training will qualify soon cant wait to turn up at hospital on my new bike, yeah sure hubby will be fine hes a big lad he can look after himself cant he hehe thx for ur advice jay will take it all on board xx
