Help!

Hiya all, I’ve got a cbr600rr and yesterday a red warning light appeared on the dash as well as a “FI” symbol, I read my handbook and I know it’s something to do with the fuel injection but other than that I don’t have a clue, I need to ride bike before I can get it sorted, can anyone tell me if it’s dangerous to ride in the mean time? Also is it a big and expensive job to sort out? Thanks for reading peeps cheers

Have you done anything that might have caused such a light? I’m not sure if or how on a honda, but on my bike you can pull the error code and look it up, which is helpful! The honda forum should have ideas on how to do this, if it’s possible.

FI = Fault Indicator. It means one of your bike many sensors is faulty. It could cause damage to your engine, best get it to your local dealer.

If I’m not mistaken you can find out what it is by switching your engine on, then put it in first gear and then put the side stand down. Then watch and count how many times the red liight flashes then look it up in the manual.

Hey I’m not sure if it would help but I’ll try, it says in the manual that it has a PGI-FI which is supposed to be fuel injection, I don’t know tbh

If anything the bike is running better than it was, it was choking at 6000 revs before which I learned to get around butit seems to have

Cleared up

So … what was it??

Don’t know about that system, but on some bikes (an cars) the FI light can indicate all sorts of out of range conditions. For example, on my bike when the FI warning lights up it nearly always means that voltage is out of range and means yet another regulator!

Have you got an alarm on your bike? If so it might be that fooking with the fuel injection. I know mine does if I use the remote stop hijack feature.

Thanks cheekychick, the light flashes 8 times which I believe is faulty thrott
