Hello,
You probably already know about my recent little crash but no worries, I’ll be back!
Called triumph dealer and asked for new parts:
*alternator cover + the bit which goes under it
*gear lever
*handlebar grip + silver bobbin at the end
*I will have second hand tank aswell to replace and no idea how to do it
Can somebody help me with replacing them ? North City Triumph will charge me £51 per hour and they said If I come without fairings it will take about 1.5h to do the job.
Does anyone have a workshop, tolls and could help with it ? I would pay of course for the time.
The most help I need with alternator cover as no idea how to safely replace it.
And the grip on the handlebar. How to take out the old one ?
Thanks
Arnie

Hope you get on the road soon with your Triumph. I’ve got the big brother, Sprint RS and love the triple engine!

Maybe now is the time to go to Halfords and buy one of their macp socket sets and do it yourself ? If you can take fairings off and put them back then I’d put money on you being able to do the same with engine covers and a few bits and pieces.
Did you check out the covers that Chunky mentioned ?

not only fairings can do most of the regular things but I’m little afraid of touching the engine…
Got few advices already and will go halfords to get set of sockets but just need rough guide how to play with the generator cover.
I know I have to replace the rubber under the cover with it .
Is it as simple as unscrewing it , putting new parts on and screwing it back ?

Sat or Sunday ?
If you have free day during a week or sth and I have parts I could take day off to play with the bike.

parts won’t arrive before Friday so sat is good for me. we will speak on BMM anyway to confirm all that.
would love to fighter it but would need second bike for fast riding can’t afford one atm…
Remember your words when sniffing my exhaust fumes in the summer when me Fighters on the road in front of you
And your have to shout at BMM as I dont go and I’ll be near the Ace
See you friday night and were sort out a time
Glad you’re OK Arnie, and good name change, it was a bit difficult to pronounce the other one
Make sure she’s good and ready for CSS1, long way to go still, so plenty of time to save up even after you got all these new parts

no worries abou CSS1. getting paid tomorrow and should book it Will be attending it 100% unless I crash again before that
I’m sorry but I will be quiting Jet Black’s Club… Going for red now Really wanted it in same colour but triumph charges too much for fairings and I almost need the full set. Getting some second hand with 08 decals… The new decals are crap though but can’t do anything about…
See you at BMM on Wednesday
not too disappointed with your colour change as this makes mine stand out even more
would be cool to have 3 different colours when we go to CSS in July, can’t wait!
yeah try to refrain from crashing betwen now and then, after is OK, but not before

I ordered new Alternator Cover, eta thursday/friday.
Realized aswell I can fix some bits and bobs using my body facilities (hands and strength)
I will put grip on the handlebar upside down as it’s just scratched a little bit and after that you won’t be able to see anything broken.
I can straighten gear lever as it’s not broken, only bend a little bit.
Expenses so far: £58 More to come…

You never now what can happen in London’s madness
We can organise double crash after CSS That would be fun, wouldn’t it ? :w00t:
When I think about me coming off now… The moment when my head was sliding on the tarmac and when the bike overtook me That’s was kind of exciting
