I don’t know what your normal bike voltage should be but you can’t just change the voltage of a vehicle?
If you have battery issues, check for current drain on all circuits (need a spark for that) and uprate the Amp Hours of the battery. (All batteries have an Ah rating on them)
The more AmpHours the better, never, change the voltage (Unless your dealer or manual tells you that it’s ok?)
Like I say, I don’t know your bike but that was my tuppence worth.
My missus has a Granturismo also, I’ll check her manual.
Regards,
Andy
(posted this before I read you had solved issue! Yes, too small a commute will put your battery into a discharge cycle which will eventually warp the plates and the battery will no longer hold as much charge as it used to!)
Apparently, the GT125s come with the same battery than the ET 50cc bikes, and the bike can’t cope with it. Only the 200cc has the correct one. The headlight’s like a lighthouse, so it drains 1/4 of the battery as soon as I turn the ignition on. Now that it’s got a brand new battery and regulator, and I do the weekly trip to the Ace revving it hard (well, I have to, to get it to go above 40mph… ), it’s been almost as good as it was brand new. Occasionally, on cold mornings, it still takes a few attempts to wake up and get going, like me really.
Welcome to LB, Wiggetta, btw. We meet up on Friday nights, first at the Ace, then it’s off to Soho (Bar Italia in Frith Street) unless it’s out of bounds now. In which case, suggestions are welcome! It will get busier when the weather warms up, I hope, as it’s a bit dead at the moment.
My missus has same bike as I said B4, she also has to crank it a couple of times in the morning (oo er) before it splutters to life, it’s brand new as well?
Definately up for meeting, I’m trying to get my missus out on her bike as well, she’s a fair weather rider tho.
Mine’s two years old now, and only started to have problems this winter. Luckily I took the three year warranty on it, as I’ve had to change the battery three times this winter.
Get the missus over to the Ace and Soho soon, as I’m tired of being the token scooterist there! I’ve got a full height windscreen and an apron on my bike, so I ride no matter what the weather!
