Can you refresh to a back up?
Do a google search on the virus or check annoyances.org (not sure of spelling)

I could refresh but I have no idea what date to do as I don’t know when this virus first appeared… Google comes up only with 3 results but it didn’t help

Hhhhmmmm

Does your Anti Virus have a log? When was the last scan done? Go back to the last clean scan - although that depends when that was…

Good idea! I will check that but it means I will loose all my new tomtom programs… I hate horses!lol

Where did it come from? Any ideas email attachment?

So that’s the AVG Free version. Hmm anybody still unsure why they give it away LoL

Can I suggest buying a pukka anti virus software? Jay - sort him out FFS !

I don’t know where it came from… Jay sorted this AGV Andrew… lol

I only know two people who use it, and both have now had virus problems.

Doh.

Never had a problem with these peeps http://www.kaspersky.com/ - use both their scanner and firewall.

Those Trojan viruses are picked up on porn sites Cezar!!!

Don’t ask me how I know… I just do, alright! LOL…

Nothing wrong with AVG, it has a good track record, though for sure, if you get a difficult virus/trojan, you should upgrade to a fully paid-up version. Cezar, I can see it’s an Internet Explorer trojan… yet another reason why a lot of companies are moving to Firefox, it’s so much more resiliant to this crap. You should also stop surfing dodgy websites

IE should be thrown in the bin, it’s useless! The new IE7 version has all the new features ripped from Firefox, and not even done that well, still the same buggy IE! Why??? Firefox all the way baby…

Hi Cezar,

bring it to work and I’ll fix it

Duncan

I use the free AVG but update it EVERY day, it’s a pain but I dont get viruses. (well until I just jinxed myself now, DOH).

Thats not very nice Jay, he might have picked it up looking at all that dodgy porn, it is not certain he got it here . . . .

On a more serious note, good AV sites /Googling will tell you which one [and which version of it] you have and - once identified - the AV sites often have scripts available to download that will cleanse your porn infested laptop. Follow the instructions carefully, iirc most of the time you have to temporarily turn off system restore as a lot of modern Trojans/Viruses use this handy facility to jump back into life… good luck !

You all know nothing ok! (pmsl)I probably got it from that Tellytubbies page I went… I don’t use IE anymore, this came of firefox! Duncan is da man! I will be at work probably on wednesday, if not on thursday for sure Duncan! Thanks

I’ve never been failed by Symantec’s site.
http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/global/index.html

They have free scans, loads of removal tools & manual instructions for removing the really stubborn buggers.

If it came of firefox how come the last line of your screengrab says :

Trojan Horse Downloader Generic…[location] Temporary Internet Files\ContentIE5 - proving it was picked up by IE not Firefox ???

I hope your poor national football team havent been copying your surfing habits Cezar, cos if so, only their right arms will be match fit …

no offence intended… they have every chance of finishing second to us !

Dead easy to get rid of this one. Re -start PC in sfae mode and delete offending file. Re start and it will be gone. Don’t ask me how I know about deleting viruses picked up from porn sites, like foxy I just know ok.
