Help cant get the rear lights working

Am busy rebuilding the SV and turning it silver with a load of bits I bought last year and never got round to fitting. No time then but now am off until next Wednesday and spent the last two days stripping it down. Today tried to fit the rumble imports undertray, good fit only trouble is have had to cut off the old lights to wire up the LED rear lights on the tail piece. Cut one off then looked at the wires. The SV has a brown wire, a black wire with a white stripe and a white wire with a black stripe, The undertray has a red wire, a yellow wire and a black wire with a white stripe. Joined red to brown, black with white to black with white and yellow to white with black stripe, now cant get any of the rear lights to work. Dont think its a fuse as the front lights still come on. Help need urgently.

The rear light should work if you have only disconnected the indicators.

Suggest you get the use of a multimeter and check that you are getting power to the lights.

sounds like you got the wires the wrong way round… the L.E.D. rear lights have a resistor in them, so it wont work backwards… so sounds like the earth is connected to one of the live’s… as chufster says, get a multi meter on there, or try all c ombinations until it works

Found a blown fuse in the indicators, and yes had wired it wrong, the live wires are the yellow ones and the stop lights are the red ones. All now working, only problem is have to get a smaller plate as my regulation sized one rubs on the back wheel when i get onthe bike.

You could try changing the angle of the plate or you could lose some weight!

Cheers Rich, weight loss on the agenda after I stop smoking. 9x4 plate ordered to pick up in the morning so should have a bit more clearance. Funny how it only hits the wheel when I sit on the bike though.

Not another one giving up the weed? I have been allowed roll ups and cigars only, no pre made fags anymore. So now I am going but at the end of the day it is supposed to be good for me and it will make her ladyship very
