Each to their own, but I already have a Black Arai Freeway, a White Astro R and a Blue Tour X…each used for different biking activities. Thought a race replica would make a change!
You can never have too many helmets, can you?
I was more worried about the effect of safety by adding stickers.
Sticker should not be an issue on your lid as its top quality, its the cheapy ones you have to watch, even then I’m not sure it makes a huge difference.
Ever met anyone with a melted face because they stuck stickers on their lid? It’s the old one armed schoolboy myth.
I’ve got a sticker on my Arai condor and I’ve been down the road in it. 3 times come to think of it but once where I bashed me noggin. Fine. Arai even x-rayed it and said it was OK to keep wearing it.
OK.Before I did what i do now I spent 25 years working in the plastics industry and therefore I do have a modicum of experience in the polymer field.Polycarbonate is the generic name for names like Lexan and Perspex which are the materials that cheap lids are injection moulded.PC has a low chemical resistance to chemicals like acetate, acetone, benzene, ketones etc. which are often found in paints and sticker adhesives. It’s the easiest way to turn your lid into an eggshell;)
My comments were towards your reply and I quote"Ever met anyone with a melted face because they stuck stickers on their lid? It’s the old one armed schoolboy myth."I must have missed the bit where you specified what make of lid;)
So I take it slapping a LB sticker on my lid would be a bad idea then? :crying: It’s a HJC CL-14 Planet (from Infinity for £50 - student on a budget here )
