the mrs has now decided she wants a new helmet as her cheap shark is crappy ( a told you so just got me a slap ) … Anyway she loves the attached design but the helmet is £129 and i dont want her to have it … So who knows someone who can do a really nice paint job on a silver Arai ?
She LOVES the paint job on the lid not the lid. She wants a lid with this on. We’ve discussed the lid and she isn’t having it, we are buying an Arai Corsair in Silver and I want to see how much it would be to get her the same “peace” colouring… Dawn very rarely asks for anything and if I can work this for her, I’m more than happy to get it for her.
Wiggetta, I must say both Jay and I have the same lid as you ( Cathcart Signet ) , and mine is off back to Arai for repair since my inside padding is shot and my mouth visor fell out… After 3 years I’m not that impressed , but we’ll see what Arai say when they get it next week.
I’d forgotten about the repair service, Lee. My Cathcart is looking VERY shabby after being involved in one too many scrapes. New lid on the way soon, another Arai if I can get my way. I’d find it hard to buy any other lid than an Arai, after having testing the effectiveness of their products on more than one occasion. The last was the most drastic, landing on my head with an Arai Astro Race lid. Did the job perfectly.
Folks if you are going to buy a helmet for paint buy a white one as in any brand they are the cheapest ones e.g. Astro Race in design can be upto £50 more than a white one.
E.G. The eyes paint job was on a black helmet the other helmet it would not matter as the base colour would have been covered.
When it gose for paint it is undercoated all over so the base colour will not matter unless it is a big part of the design.
Mike, just out of curiosity, approximately what would I be looking to spend if I wanted a silver Arai made red? Also, how safe is it for a helmet to be repainted?
