Hellooooooo!

Hello everyone!

Brand new biker here. Did my CBT last weekend and am now the very proud owner of a shiney CG125, which I use to commute from Leatherhead to Kennington Oval amongst other things. Had my first experience of London evening rush hour tonight…tell me it gets less scary the more you do it?!

Take care all,

Pip

Hi and welcome aboard.

Hi welcome to LB:D

and yes, you get use to it, cars do try it on when you got L plates on, just remember you pay road tax, you got a right to use the road,

Good Luck, and Ride Safe

Hi  Welcome to LB

Hi Pip and welcome to L B as has been said already you get used to it lol
Steve

Hi Pip,

I’m only slightly ahead of you and have been riding my cg for 6 weeks! My first commuter run scared the living daylights out of me! I was pretty convinced I had a target on my back rather than L plates! It gets easier very quickly, ride safe and enjoy!

Thanks for the welcomes everyone! Motorbiking is a friendly place - had my first ‘quick chat at the lights’ today with a chap on a maxi-scooter

Commute number two today and less scarey already - partly knowing what was coming I guess! To be honest the thing I find scariest is the hidious mix of motorbikes and push bikes at traffic lights - around Kennington/Oval through to Clapham on the A3 there are just so many of them - it looks like it could all get messy very easily…!

hi and welcome to the LB

howdy!!!

Hello and welcome to LB:D It won’t take long to be at ease with whats going on around you:cool:

I’m one of those bikers!

I’ve been commuting in London for 4 months now, riding 8 years nearly and its very dodgy at times, positioning is key and being aware of your surroundings…

Its quite fun tho. I’ve nearly had about 2 punch ups and witnessed some great cyclist vs taxi insults:D

welcome

Thanks again for the welcomes!

Yes, been doing it every day since Monday this week, and I’m a lot more comfortable with it now, i think those first couple of days were just a bit shell-shocking! I’m slowly learning where I need to put myself to avoid the worst of the melee.

Cheers

Pip
