Yesterday on my way home from work I caught up with a shiny blue W-Reg Yam R1 at Purley Cross. We were both riding in the same direction and I was surprised I could keep up. The rider was wearing a hooded top (over leathers) with “Londonbikers.com” emblazed on the back. I made a mental note of the URL and here I’m.
About me -
I have small bikes in my youth, but never found time to pass my test. Three and a half years ago I took the plunge and finally got my finger out. My first and current bike was a low mileage CBR600-FX. We have now covered just over 30,000 miles together.
I ride everyday, come rain or shine, but not snow for obvious reasons. I love every minute of it.
If you are that R1 rider I met at Purley yesterday, feel free to get in touch. That exhaust of yours sounds gorgeous.
Thanks for all the kind words. It’s nice to feel welcome. That was one of the first things I noticed about biker, they just come up to you and say hi.
SheWoolf - I might have to check out that Mentoring you mentioned in your signature. Sounds interesting.
Jay - The name came about a few years ago when I wanted an AOL AIM account (long since defunct). I wanted something to reflect my love of Trance music, but all the best ones were taken so in desperation and frustration I type in Trance-Elbow and it was availible. Since then I’ve used it for eBay, website URLs, email adresses, Flickr.com and XBox Live!, to name a few. I’ve even written (poor) music under that name.
ben632664 - Thanks for the tip. I’ve check out YamahaRidersDoItBetter’s details and it looks good. If I’m feeling brave I might send him a PM tomorrow. Will he bite?
Adz - When I was 29 I suddenly started feeling old with 30 looming, so I went to Ibiza and did the clubs (very expensive trip). I’m over it now, but still love my Trance music. I find it empowering.
